Mr. T Pities New ‘A-Team’ Movie

Mr. T Pities New ‘A-Team’ Movie

Mr. T Pities a RemakeThere are a lot of things that Mr. T has pitied over the years.

One can only imagine in 2010, rather than pitying Rocky Balboa, the 58-year-old former “A-Team” star’s pity list includes bleeding-heart magnets such as oil-covered otters in the Gulf, the one-eyed dog in the Sarah McLachlan SPCA commercials and Heidi Montag’s mirror.

However, the Mohawked one gave the U.K.’s Sunday Express his front-runner for “Fool of the Year,” and it just happens to be the big-budget movie remake of the ’80s television classic that made him a household name.

“[The new ‘A-Team’] was too graphic for me,” Mr. T, who played teammate B.A. Baracus, told the Express. “I’ve no doubt it will do big business at the box office, but it’s nothing like the show we turned out every week.”

He elaborates, saying, “People die in the film and there’s plenty of sex, but when we did it no one got hurt and it was all played for fun and family entertainment. These seem to be elements nobody is interested in any more.”

Yes, T, it is hard to believe that people don’t want to pay $10 bucks to see a movie in which people get shot at but nobody dies and vehicles get blown up but all the passengers crawl from the wreckage unharmed, scattering into the jungle. You’re right. All movies should be like LARPing, Civil War reenactments or a Roadrunner cartoon. When someone gets shot in the new “A-Team,” it should knock their nose and mouth to the back of their head and leave black soot all over their face like they were Daffy Duck.

“We ran on TV for five years without having to sex-up the show,” the old fuddy-duddy continues. “You can’t get away with that these days. It saddens me that our light-hearted approach has been replaced by gritty realism.”

The only thing that should sadden Mr. T is the fact that the producers of this new film re-cast his famous role with a talent-less mound of meat named Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (picture above, right; watch him add nothing to a conversation in the video below). Warning: Sarcasm ahead. You’ll wax nostalgic when you hear this mixed-martial arts fighter utter such classic catchphrases as “Sucks to be you, homie,” “I’m B.A. You’re gonna be unconscious,” “I’m-a kill you, fool!” and “Hell naw, I ain’t steppin’ foot on any kind of aircraft.” Sigh. Someone hook up my NES!

“They offered me a cameo role, but I turned it down because I knew what was coming,” T said.

All things considered, he probably made the right decision.
~~~~~
Good for Mr. T for standing up and speaking out but dang, like the writer of the article said, I would had been more pissed at the person they hired to revive his role....confused Oh well, I'm not wasting my money to see it anyway so it doesn't make a difference to me either way. Carry on.
I applaud Mr. T for that. He's exactly right.
David Onda is far too jaded. Poor guy.
This is the funniest thread title i've read this week.
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.
The movie would be alright if they actually put more thought into the casting, I don't think anyone in the cast fits the characters from the original show. Just another example of hollyweird's lazyness
Do you know why the A-Team (the series) sucked?? BECAUSE OF the lack of sex & violence, rolleyes; it was a fag-ass show with 0% tension and so-so plots. I mean, the show was fun for a while, but it was/is cheesy-boring, let's face it.
But probably the film sucks as well, just as Miami Vice (the film) sucked badly...
All these 70s/80s shows are just looked back on with nostalgia. Back when i was a kid, Knight Rider, Hulk, Dukes Of Hazzard, A-Team, Airwolf etc all were fabulous. You watch them now, and realise just how appallingly bad most of them were.
Different genre, But i get you. I've not seen it since it first aired, i never really got Mork's friend, the guy in the brown robes with the wild eyes (i don't remember his name), i guess i would now. Morks hairy wrists were like eek to me back then. lol
I don't agree, I would like to show my 13 yrd movies that I grew up with but I can't.
Porky's, 16 candles, Weird Science, Zapped, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, all contain nudity, profanity, racism, crossing the line humor, and so on and on. Movies today are so censored, that movies from the 70's and 80's would receive an X rating today.
Grant it, these movies were funny as hell, but I don't agree with Mr. T.
By today's standard, the bromance within the original A-Team series was obvious. But it was fun show to watch when I was a kid.
To be very fair, I don't think Michael Knight ever had time to have sex with some women either in the original Knight Rider series. And that was an action series.
Excuse you, but I still love Knight Rider. I've even liked Knight Rider 2000 & Team Knight Rider. cool
The remake/rebooted Knight Rider was THE only f*** up. disbelief
falloff Hey bro. Sorry - I was actually just messing around and was trying to add on to those TV shows that were amazingly popular back in the day but dated horribly. I figured Mork and Mindy had to fit the bill perfectly.
I also thought referring to Mork and Mindy as "fierce" put the joke over the top. Oh well, when good jokes go bad....(Was it even that good)? smile
Anyway, I probably should have gone with something more obvious like Murder She Wrote....
Not to mention the Looney Tunes cartoons that are now way too politically incorrect for kids to handle. I mean look at me. I grew up with that stuff and I'm the most intolerant person I know.
I can't even stand myself!!!
.......and then rename the car K.A.T.T.! biggrin Good idea.
BTW, one of the motorcycles in Team Knight Rider was name Katt. And she has a California valley girl persona.
