Lauren Bacall... worship

How old is she? She looked fantastic! I also saw her being interview on the classic movien channel. She seems to be in really good shape!

Sandra B.. *meh* neutral I have some dirt on her regarding when she dated Bob Schneider. Her speech was really emotional.. but I really wish she'd remember those feelings when she's going after other women's boyfriends(?)---allegedly. neutral Apparently Bullock just stalked him like groupie. Then he dumped his girlfriend (or it may have been his FIRST wife) for her. I wasn't there, but that's the rumor. shrug Of course, Bob Schneider is no saint either! lol But Sandra Bullock sort of reminds me of Julia Roberts in the way she takes what she wants..allegdely! lol

I'm glad Jeff Bridges won. I'm glad the "The Weary Kind" won.

And no Farrah in the tribute? Didn't she make a few movies?

I thought the show was only ok. It was boring. Every year, I watch, and then swear I'm never watching again! lol
[Edited 3/8/10 5:30am]

Just a few that many know about but in actuality, she's credited in 18!

http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ah_Fawcett

Snubbing her was NOT cool, Academy! no no no!

However, they also snubbed Bea Arthur, who left us April 25, 2009! Her performance in the 1974 adaptation of the Broadway musical "Mame" should have been enough for the Academy to give her a mention! The enormous loss of her extraordinary talent and ability when it comes to the Art and Science of Acting should have been MORE than enough! hmph!

Somebody was seriously slipping on their job when they put that tribute together, IMHO! nod
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

eek 18? Wow. I can't imagine how anybody could have forgotten either Farrah or Bea Arthur! I thought they were saving Farrah for the the end, but I guess not!

I read somewhere it's possible Farrah wasn't a member of the Academy? Could this be the explanation?

The vast majority of Farrah's work was in TV, not major films on the big screen. She may have had a bit part here and there in a big screen film, but that's about it. So that's why she wasn't included in their tribute.

Well, he had more screen time in his movie evidently than Farrah did in hers.... neutral enough to be included in their tribute.

Wasn't Michael Jackson's music nominated for an Oscar though? I also read the short film Thriller was nominated for an Oscar?

I understand why Michael Jackson was included, but I thought Farrah Fawcett had more success in films than she did, I guess. shrug

Maybe most of her success was in TV?

This was my thought exactly. Extremities alone should've been enough to get her a brief spot on there.

EDIT:

I think the song Ben might have been nominated, or even won...but still.

Can we talk fashion on its own thread, like "FAVORITES", "BEST WORST" or does that need to be discussed on here? boxed

Exactly!! It really is sad enough and extremely unfortunate that Michael "upstaged" Farrah on the day they died. (Yes! I know! I know I should be ashamed of myself...need Jesus...etc...blahblah...but that IS what happened!) For it to happen in the Memorial Tribute at the Oscars...ALSO?!?!? eek

Something that SOMEBODY actually had some control over...was just WRONG!! disbelief

I know Dan will be on our side, too. I mean...considering that J-Lo and Amanda Seyfried wore dresses made of bubble wrap. shrug

The John Hughes tribute was well laid out, enjoyed the montage!!
The Horror mention and tribute was surprising but loved it..especially the blend of the Exorcist and Halloween theme musics.

Did you even see The Cove? The footage at the end alone was enough to win the award. It made a much bigger impression on me than Food Inc.
