I predict a bunch of trophies being given out to people who film made-up stories (with a few exceptions). Most of the focus will be on the good-looking ones, who get paid a lot of money for essentially being what one very astute writer deemed "skin puppets". They will promenade on a red carpet prior to the ceremonies and people will ask them stupid questions. They will attempt to give witty answers. Most of them will fail. The whole spectacle is largely emblematic of what is wrong with our misguided society.

I will be tuning in promptly at 19:00.

I'm making Coraline cookies. (Cookies that looks like buttons. YUM!)

Even though Coraline won't win anything. pout

I don't like 10 movies being up for best picture. Stupidest idea ever.

Don't movie and director go hand-in-hand?

as long as Quentin Tarantino wins for director or screenplay, i'm happy. He deserves atleast one of them. Christopher Waltz deserves his Oscar as well.

the only thing Avatar should win in is Special Effects. nothing else

LOVE HER...

But I wish that movie gets dumbed on big time, for obvious reasons.

I am not a big fan of hers, but the whole movie looks so phony. I haven't seen it, but the commercials made me kind of sick.

it'll be interesting to see how picture and director gos. those are the only categories that don't seem easily read.

my thing is, i think having ten nominees is going to mean the death of little thoughtful pictures winning, and hoe crap like gladiator and avatar starts winning easily. had it only been 5 nominees, hurt locker or up in the air would be winning.

I really really really really really reeeeeaally hate those type of movies.

Tagline: Good white lady saving another poor unfortunate black soul rolleyes Hollywood should changes its name to 'Disney' once and for all.

I love Sandra, and I'm happy this bullshit movie(along with the Proposal) revived her career, but I wish she chooses her roles more wisely in the future, she's better than this IMO.

Me, too!!

I've seen 7 of the 10 best picture nominees. Precious and District 9 was better than the rest but it will be a popularity contest opposed to the actual best. Hurt Locker bored the daylights out of me and Avatar had the sumbest dialogue that i've seen in a movie in a long time.

Oh, Inglorious Basterds was better than Hurt Locker and Avatar too.

not only is he unfortunate, but isn't there something wrong with him like he's slow? It's like he's a dog and she has to say "it's okay boy, pick up the football, crush the other team, here's a bed for the first time in your life. That's right, white people sleep in beds" at least from what I saw which admittedly is not much.

Also it's the rich white lady who shows the hood guys that she's just as tough as them lol yuck!

I was never interested in seeing Dangerous Minds either shake

I don't agree with either of you with this movie. lol

I though it was a bit sappy and cliched but I really liked it. I don't think Sandra should have been nominated for an Oscar for it though.

she was hot in the movie. drooling

Seriously? I think the only one I've seen is Inglourious Basterds (and that was for my father lol). Other than the yearly Woody Allen, I generally don't watch fiction anymore.

I'm sure I'll have the show on in the corner of my screen, but I'll only be givin' it the side-eye (Michael K. bow).

I can't judge, since I haven't seen it. It just looks really cliche.

I can say I thought it was well done, but it just wasn't my kind of movie. Not one relatable character. I didn't like it.
