He had many many valid points. He likely screwed himself but there is zero doubt that the IRS ruins people's lives and there is no doubt we have bailed out the banks and people all over the country are suffering and there is zero accountability where there should be. He has many valid points and for some reason your hysteria is stopping you from seeing that.

Can you show me one single time in all the examples this fucking nutjob listed where the IRS screwed him?

Seriously, show me one single valid point he has about something that was done wrongfully to him.

you can have a valid disagreement with someone and NOT fly a fricking plan int a building. I am thinking that SupaFunkyOrgangrinderSexy is not defending this scum just acknowledge that the IRS can do some messed up things to people.

I am not sure how this fits in with his wish that rich people like this guy to be savaged by the IRS but it is cool.

(I just wish he would have just killed himself and maybe left his family something)

Oh, and basically you agreed with my point-by-point analysis showing that everything this guy listed as a grievance was not, in fact, a valid grievance.

The overall arching theme of his letter is completely valid. You're blinded by your own rage.

No my friend, you are the one that is blinded. There is no over-arching theme of his letter.

He lists a series of personal fuck-ups that he blames on someone else, ultimately deciding that the only answer is to kill innocent people.

Hey, the IRS isn't perfect and there have been agents that have misused their power. No doubt about that.

But THIS fuckwad doesn't list a single example of that happening to HIM. He gets caught cheating on his tax return two times, and somehow that justifies (to him) killing innocent people.

Read his letter. This guy was a total fuck-up who NEVER took responsibility for his own mistakes. Instead, he blamed them on someone else and figured that justified murder.

Yeah, and other than blowing up a building and killing 230 people, Tim McVeigh was a helluva nice guy.

Wonderful but I'm not talking about him, I'm talking about this dude.

OK, well explain how he can say "Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn't so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer." and still be considered sane.

Looking more closely at this letter, I do find it difficult to see specifically how the government screwed him over. Yes there are references to bailouts & how difficult it is to read tax forms, but that's pretty vague as far as his situation goes. Maybe he should have gotten a lawyer & accountant.

I might agree with his overall sentiments, but it hardly justifies what he did, and I don't see that he has a single entity to blame for his problems.

I have read not and am not going to read it all, but I am sure he had or at least though he had been screwed over by thar IRS, Yet, as I hope we all agree, it would never excuse his reaction. I also do not think anyone here is really defending the guy at all.

No valid point he could have ever made could justify this reaction.

I do not care about the letter. Nothing he says is going to help his case with me and nothing in the letter could make him look worst than flying a plan into a building. But maybe when things calm down over here later I will read it.

well, it's easy for some (me included) to read "bailouts" and "tax forms" and want to agree with him, but his examples are not convincing other than that spirit of frustration that many of us feel from time to time

Isn't that kind of like saying, "Other than killing 6 million Jews, Hitler was OK"?

I mean, come on! You are the most non-violent person I've seen here, and this guy says violence is the ONLY way, and you don't think he's a whackjob?

I never said you said it did (nobody did) smile but even though he's well spoken & intelligent it still comes across more as a general rant of being fed up with the system than a specific valid complaint.

Actually Erin, what you said was the letter made him look "totally sane".

Where does "sane" mean ok? I never said the dude was ok. I said that I don't think he comes off as insane I think this letter is written by a perfectly sane person.

You seem to think that me saying he is sane means I agree with what he is saying. I never said that I simply said I do not believe the dude was insane.

Much of the letter reads like an intelligent person ranting in frustration, but the end is where he basically says "fuck it, I'm going to kill myself and hopefully take some others with me." That does not sound very sane.

No Erin, you said and I quote "Other than what he did today, that letter makes him look totally sane." It's reply #52 and it's on page 2 of this thread.

So are you saying that you read him say that violence is the only answer, and that he intends to kill people and himself, and that after reading that, you thought he was totally sane?

Really?

You're hilarious.

I did read the letter, the dude does not come off as insane.

So since you feel he is insane...if he somehow survived this and was charged I guess you feel that he should plead insanity and possibly get off because he was not criminally responsible due to him being a "whackjob".

Perhaps you just need to admit that you wrongly interpreted what I said as me agreeing with what he said, which I never once said I did.

Again, dude comes off as a perfectly sane person in that letter - not someone who is insane.
