He probably has totally valid points, but his reaction is not the right way to make a difference. He probably killed/hurt people who are not responsible for making these decisions and are just trying to make a living.

You could say "so were the Nazi's" but I thin there is more of an argument for taxes than there is for eradicating Jews.

This guy hurt the wrong people with this act. If you could kill the head of the IRS I wouldn't support it but it would make more sense.

It would make more sense to attack those who actually have power more than some random office worker.

IN the same way, if you don't approve of the war, you don't protest the soldiers, you protest the people who make the decisions to go to war.

Well, if any of you think this guy is not a nutjob/"has a point", then I guess you think Tim McVeigh had a point, too.

And I'm nowhere near ya on that one.

He nailed you in the letter then.

He has a reason for being upset and angry about something. There is never a point to go postal on, and kill, innocent people. Let's not confuse, or diminish, the facts of his life and thought process for the sake of dismissing something someone might be ignorant about. We also have to remember that they're at an extreme point in their heads; a state that isn't quite normal anymore. They saw their actions as a reason, and their only solution (as noted in his letter).

What Tim McVeigh did was wrong when he bombed a building in my home town; the town I was born and raised in for 20 years. He was angry about the Waco incident (among other things, perhaps). He lashed out, but he could have done anything else besides kill 168 people including 3 unborn fetuses and their mothers who were carrying them in utero, and victims from three months old to people over 70 years old. He was wrong in what he did.

What Stark did was wrong. Both had other options, and chose not to take them, but both have valid arguments for why they were mad, not for what they did.

We all have a right to be angry, and even act on it. We don't have the right to kill innocent people for it.

Oh I hear you, but the head of the IRS doesn't make any policy or law.

The IRS is the collection arm of the United States Treasury, and the only power or marching orders they get is from the United States Congress, via laws signed by the president.

But so few people understand that. I don't think you could pay me enough to run the IRS, simply because of the misperceptions out there.

We agree that what Stark and McVeigh did was wrong. Where we disagree is that they had points.

Stark is a fucking crybaby (or was, now he's a fucking blob of goo). Wah wah wah. And not only was he a fucking crybaby, he was a pussy that attacked innocent people.

He's not worth a piece of cat shit, and anyone that tries to give any credence to his miserable whining existence because of some manifesto is doing way more harm than good.

And read his manifesto. I did. The stupid fucker was a crybaby who never took any responsibility and the only gripe he had was with his accountant.

So McVeigh wasn't a cry baby, and was a big man that attacked innocent people then? Cuz he had a point, unlike Stark, right?

If Stark's letter had been paired down a bit and posted here on the org, it would have been taken totally differently. "Aww, keep your head up." "Yeah, fuck the man! Fuck the government!" But now that this fellow has flown his plane into an IRS building, he's instantly a pussy and a nut job.

That's a very narrow way of thinking, and diminishes him, and his family. I'm not defending this guy, but let's at least try to understand what he was thinking, and learn from it.

How long will be too long?

The points that he was making are affecting millions and millions of Americans. We are stuck holding the bag while wall street continues their binging. People's lives are ruined because of the issues he raised. whether or not his particular situation is worthy of recognizing is besides the point. The overall issues are worthy of being pointed out.

definitely. A person might not agree with him, but it's only in the context of what he did that his argument seems less valid.

I read this fucking whacked-out nutjob's manifesto again. Now, I am very concerned that some of you think he has "points". You are all people I respect and so I'm going to give you the scoop on what this stupid murdering motherfucker actually did, wrote and said:

1. This bumbling asshole joins some group of tax protestors who are pissed that churches don't pay taxes. So their plan is to form their own church (or as he put it, do what the "big boys" do), and guess what? They got their stupid fucking asses handed to them. Which is EXACTLY what should have happened. So, right there you know he's a fucking idiot.

2. But instead of taking responsibility for getting caught trying to game the system, he blames "the government". And the funny thing is, his gripe at first wasn't with the government, it was with organized religion.

3. Then he spews total bullshit about the "incompetent mill management, unions and the government" raiding the pension fund of some unnamed steel company. Probably US Steel, which went bankrupt. This in turn led him to be advised to eat cat food. Give me a fucking break. What a total fucking dumbass.

4. So he eschews cat food but of course, hard times are a'comin' anyway. This dipshit gets an engineering degree, and then bitches about the change in the tax code that affects engineers. Hey dumbass - I remember that exact law. Hell yes, it was bitched about but it wasn't any fucking secret. And it wasn't retroactive, either. He knew what the fucking rules were going to be, but being a pussy, he'd rather cry about it than plan for it. And what kind of paranoid fuck thinks a law was aimed specifically at him? And where in the world does he get that he's being called a criminal and a non-citizen slave? This guy was a fucking lunatic.

5. So this stupid motherfucker is broke, but not so broke that he can't spend $5,000 bitching about the new law. Hey, here's a flash - you should have spent that $5,000 learning how to comply with the new rules, you stupid dumb murdering bastard.

6. OK, now that we've established this fucker is a world-class dumbass, he goes on to achieve new levels of stupidity. He cries about losing his retirement because of military bases that were closed in the early '90's. What the fuck?!? Unless he owned the bases, how the fuck could he lose his retirement? I'll tell you how - no doubt this stupid motherfucker blew all his savings on ridiculous schemes to get around paying his taxes. Dumbass.

7. 9/11 changed everything.

8. This dumb fucker decides to shuck Cali and head to Texas. Great, like we needed any more fucking dumbasses. And Stark, being a completely looney bastard, heads to Austin WITHOUT FIRST SEEING IF THERE WAS ANY WORK FOR HIM THERE. And of course, there wasn't. But it's not HIS fault! God, this motherfucker gets more and more pathetic with each sentence. And some of you think he has a POINT?

9. He claims that the engineering world in Austin is controlled by 3 or 4 companies that are all in collusion to hold down wages. C'mon! You think those dope smoking hippies in Austin are that smart? And even if they were, the whole fucking state government is in AUSTIN! This guy was so fucking crazy.

10. Now it gets REALLY good. This stupid piece of shit doesn't file a tax return, and has no one to blame but HIMSELF for that. But of course, it's not HIS fault. What a whiny bitch. And if you believe him when he says he had a "protest" to file, then I have some oceanfront property to sell you. In Arizona. And if he owed NO taxes, then there is NO WAY IN HELL he was fined $10,000. He's a lying motherfucker.

11. So he goes to a CPA and for once, he MAY have a legitimate gripe. His CPA does what CPAs do a lot - fucks up and tells him at the last minute he owes money. That's happened to me, more than once. I feel his pain. However, this was all over UNREPORTED income from his wife. In other words, they were trying to HIDE INCOME and the CPA found out about it. So once again, even though he's a tax cheat, all this is not HIS fault. Even though he admits he poorly documented his business. What a pussy.

12. So he concludes that after a lifetime of fucking up all on his own, it's somehow "the government's" fault, and that the only way things will ever change is with a body count. Honestly, this man is admitting to pre-meditated murder! How can any of you give him one ounce of credibilty? He's a motherfucking murderer!

13. And Erin, he concludes with "Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn't so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer." You're as non-violent as they come, so I must think you didn't read this far because if you had, there's no way you would have said, "Other than what he did today, that letter makes him look totally sane."

OK, I sincerely hope that I have blasted away any shred of credibility that ANY of you think this lowlife piece of motherfucking shit may have had.

Because he had NONE.

Ummmm, no. McVeigh had no point and was a piece of shit. Just like Stark.

And by the way, as evidenced from my post above, I read his manifesto closer than anyone else here has, and this motherfucker had NOTHING worthwhile to add. He was a loser, a nut and a murderer. Plus, also a crybaby.

And even if they were, the whole fucking state government is in AUSTIN! This guy was so fucking crazy.

I cannot prove there isn't collusion or monopoly but this exists in our culture.

10. Now it gets REALLY good. This stupid piece of shit doesn't file a tax return, and has no one to blame but HIMSELF for that. But of course, it's not HIS fault. What a whiny bitch. His point is made ridiculously because what he did will make zero difference

OK, I sincerely hope that I have blasted away any shred of credibility that ANY of you think this lowlife piece of motherfucking shit may have had.

Because he had NONE.

He had many many valid points. He likely screwed himself but there is zero doubt that the IRS ruins people's lives and there is no doubt we have bailed out the banks and people all over the country are suffering and there is zero accountability where there should be. He has many valid points and for some reason your hysteria is stopping you from seeing that.

Can you show me one single time in all the examples this fucking nutjob listed where the IRS screwed him?

Seriously, show me one single valid point he has about something that was done wrongfully to him.

I can see you're riddles with cliche's and a narrow mind way of viewing things. I'm okay with that, because knowledge is power, and I now know what I'm dealing with.

Well Ernest, my point is that Stack was a murderer and an idiot and a lunatic.

So if you see it any other way, then I know what I'm dealing with.

I'm pissed the church doesn't pay taxes. They can violate my constitutional rights by bankrolling anti gay amendments but they didn't violate the separation of church and state?

2. But instead of taking responsibility for getting caught trying to game the system, he blames "the government". And the funny thing is, his gripe at first wasn't with the government, it was with organized religion.

You aren't objective on the subject.

3. Then he spews total bullshit about the "incompetent mill management, unions and the government" raiding the pension fund of some unnamed steel company. Probably US Steel, which went bankrupt. This in turn led him to be advised to
eat cat food. Give me a fucking break. What a total fucking dumbass.

Yeah, he's probably misguided about exactly how the pensions disappeared but they did

This guy was a fucking lunatic.

point made

5. So this stupid motherfucker is broke, but not so broke that he can't spend $5,000 bitching about the new law. Hey, here's a flash - you should have spent that $5,000 learning how to comply with the new rules, you stupid dumb murdering bastard.

another point and not one anyone is defeding

Dumbass.

not what people are defending but yeah, he had a hand in this surely

7. 9/11 changed everything.

It did

Not what anyone is talking about

And if you believe him when he says he had a "protest" to file, then I have some oceanfront property to sell you. In Arizona. And if he owed NO taxes, then there is NO WAY IN HELL he was fined $10,000. He's a lying motherfucker.

Not defending this

Not defending this

His point is made ridiculously because what he did will make zero difference

Oh, and basically you agreed with my point-by-point analysis showing that everything this guy listed as a grievance was not, in fact, a valid grievance.

The overall arching theme of his letter is completely valid. You're blinded by your own rage.

Eric Rudolph killed people because Tim McVeigh "had a point".

I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that doesn't happen again.
