My Husband's Family Was Flooded In Brazil!

i don't know how many people have seen on the news/internet about the flooding in rio de janeiro brazil? but my husband's family was flooded, many members of his family, several lost their homes all together. sad here are some photos of some of his relatives homes there. neutral these pictures don't even show the worst damage that some of them suffered. if you could please keep them and all the others that were flooded in your prayers, thanks so much! hug

I will be praying for them, kimrachell. Is your Husband able to contact his family or will he be able to go to Brazil to help them? How else can we help? pray

he has been able to contact his mother there, and she has been giving him updates on everyone, he is planning to go to brazil as soon as he can get some time off from his employer, we are looking into a safe way to get needed items/donations to them. thanks for your prayers! rose

You and your husband sound like wonderful people. Be safe! Let us know if there is any way we can help. Maybe an Amazon wishlist for needed items, shipped to you so you can get them there?

Kim,

I hope everything turns out well. I will pray for everyone's safety. Do you know if this took place in the city of Abraao? I stayed on Ilha Grande when I visited Brazil and I am pretty sure this is one of the cities we hiked to...

hug thank you so much for your kind words, the amazon wishlist is a sweet idea, but with past experience with trying to get items into brazil, it's just too diffuclt and not safe, most of the time they end up getting stolen entering the country, it's sad, but there is so much corruption in brazil! so i think the safest way to get them help is by transfering funds to them directly through our bank account to theirs, this way they can get what they need, without worrying about items being stolen that are shipped there, or that my husband trys to bring with him on the plane. brazil also likes to make people pay a tax on items from the USA. so i think a transfer to their bank account is going to be our best bet.

yes, his family was able to stay at a cousins house somewhat outside the area, and they were able to get one house cleaned up and the water out of it. everyone is working together to see what they can do to replace their homes, or household items. i just thank God they all are safe and weren't harmed in any way. thank you all again for your love and concern! rose

it's sad, and what makes it worse is that a lot of my husband's family lives in poor areas in rio de janerio, and we all know that it's really difficult to get any government to care about the poor!

How's the situation with your husband's family, kimrachell? How kind of you to be thinking of the Haitian people when it would be understandable to have your mind on your own problems. Passing through and wanted to see how things were.
