Would you wear these?

Truly Terrifying Fashion Accessories: Reid Peppard's Rodent Taxidermy Jewelry

Reid Peppard makes accessories out of taxidermy. Like this, uh, guinea pig (?) hair comb. Peppard also makes rat bowties ("black leather bowtie with medium white rat head" and blue Swarovski crystal eyes) and rat medallions and rat coin purses and pigeon wing head pieces. The mouse cufflinks are so subtle they are almost wearable. Almost. Imagine shaking hands with the guy and seeing the little furry heads. And screaming.

Mouse head cuff links? A coin purse???

Bracelet...

eek ...holding a red Swarovski crystal heart.

Has anyone here ever carried around a rabbit's foot keychain for good luck? hmmm lol

I wouldn't wear them either, but we wear leather shoes, belts, jackets, etc. Isn't that dead cow? I guess if our shoes had the eyes or head attached...hmmm razz lol

The skins used for leather are generally from animals that have been processed for food. It's a bit different.

The feathered hair piece is rather attractive, but the parrot head, or mouse foot are just fucked up.
And as for the poor mouse/gerbil combo.
nuts

My cat would love them though, I'm sure.

Yeah...I love the photo.

I love Prairie Dogs and I really don't like this one...

This is a genuine taxidermy Prairie Dog (type of ground squirrel) foot that has been set in a Victorian inspired gold cap and is hanging from a vintage gold bow. There is a pinback on the back and this can be worn by men or women. It measures 2" long x 1 1/4" wide. Created by Loved TO Death. It comes in its own handmade wooden coffin box with a LTD red stamp on the front.

$95.00

I think the bat skull is the cherry on top really. My first choice would be silver obviously, but the black and gold combo works for me in this case. Just have someone sculpt a fake one and I'm good.

Eh, the skull is still gross. If it were silver and none of it were taken from an actual animal, then yeah, it would be a billion times better. But the design is still... something. It's too chunky.

Look like it. I can't find it on the site. But I found this statement...

NO ANIMAL HAS EVER BEEN KILLED FOR THE USE IN OUR WORK. We BUY parts from highly respected taxidermists. Parts are recycled or are by-products. It is out of the respect and appreciation of the animal to do this rather than just discard of these parts. We, as ARTISTS, find beauty in these parts. We see it as a memorial to the animal passed. The pieces we make truly are crafted with love. We love these animals and what we do.

If the damage is due to rough handling or negligence we will repair for a minimal fee. We want you to love your piece and be confident wearing it. Some items are more fragile and need to be worn carefully. Never get any piece wet. And always Love It To Death!
