Curious question here. And if you have, don't front and save you haven't. Just be honest. lol
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Yep. Entirely my fault too. It definitely prodded me to get my "stuff" together.

I've been fired from, and I've quit, jobs. It's always a debate which is better: to quit, or get fired. Do you pull out early, or do you stick it out until the bitter end when they dismiss you? Hmmm.

sho have!

I have quit, been "laid off", and been fired. Guess that's what happens when you work since the age of 14.

what I am finding out is that I need to get myself manuevered into having my own business...I'm tired of dealing with other people's shadiness and bullshit. I want to be able to respect myself!

not exactly fired. but they bullied me into a place where i had no
choice but to leave on my own accord. it sucked. not that i had to
leave, but the way they played that sick little game without any
regard for my feelings or well being.

if i'd slacked off or done anything wrong i would have understood.
the problem here though was that the clients liked me too much in
too short a period of time, which made a few old timers angry.

the proverbial straw was when one of our clients told me, in the
presence of long time employees "are you sure you are right for
this job? you seem to nice, to compasionate and real. don't get
me wrong, you're a top bloke, but i don't think the others will
be able to deal with someone nice and honest in the office. but
as long as you're here, i will deal with you and you only from
now on".

next morning they called me into a room for a performance talk
and told me that basically, i was a piece of shit, a worthless
human being and a fucking backstabber who didn't pull his weight.

eek

i had to take the rest of the day off to let it sink in and on
my way home had to pull over and be sick/cry/scream and then
basically fall apart.

later i decided that my own health and sanity were more valuable
to me than winning the argument from people i wouldn't want to
work with anymore anyway.

it took a while but i came through just fine.

so uhm, in a way, i was fired but then i was not lol

Never been fired, thank goodness but way back when I was around 19 I was laid off from a temp job at the end of the term. You know it's coming but you kind of hope they keep you anyway.

i've been fired before, then i experienced a company buy-out, which i guess is like being laid off.

slef-employment is the shyt, but i enjoyed the comeraderie.

no but i SHOULD have been a few times.

(well once I guess I was fired, or at least I would have been if I would have ever gone back after I stopped going to work. The reason I stopped going was they fired my friend when he could not say for a 3rd hour past his scheduled time. He said he had to leave they say 'leave and you're fired' he said 'oh well.' So they called me, but as my friend and I were going to go to a party I said "no I can not come in" and my dad got all mad at me for not going in. So I just never went back. )

I was too single. I'm confident I was let go because I was the only person on the team who didn't have a family to support, and was known for taking long vacations overseas.

My reviews were always stellar, and my clients were devastated when I was let go.

Fired once in the south because the manager who loved me and promoted me found out I had biracial children. I tried to fight it to no avail. I hate the south.

Laid off twice. From an established company that filed bankruptcy. Worked for them for years. From a temp agency. Quit two. I despise retail.

Yes! Once it was very dramatic and humiliating. My only defense is that I was still a teenager at the time. smile Then a couple of other times from very short term temp jobs, where snooty bosses decided I wasn't right for the position after like, one day. confused

There's been several others where they let me go due to other reasons, but maybe partly because I wasn't a good fit.

I have had LOTS and LOTS of jobs.

I got fired from being casheir at a spa after 2 weeks cause I didn't know how to close anything and do the calculations, it just wasn't coming to me despite having worked at a bank

A temp agency found me an admin assistant job and after a week, I was asked to leave cause I was too slow

The job I'm at right now, I used to be full time there, but was spoken to about mistakes and all. I probably would have gotten fired if I didn't quit and become a casual/relief worker, which I'm so much happier with now. I studied so hard for that type job, that I could not bear getting fired from it, and I really liked management there.
