No I haven't been fired from any jobs, and never been written up either, though I've had a few close calls. When you get too comfortable with a job, it's super easy to get written up, but somehow, I've always managed to manuever myself out of those situations. I really would love to quit my current job, but my bills are telling me not to. lol

Yeah...lately I've been slacking. It seems like it takes so much for me to drag myself there everyday. I've been late a few times lately. We're gonna have to do three weeks w/ no off days this month since they don't wanna hire anybody else. We have to work overtime to make up for being short staffed. Sure, the paycheck is gonna be better, especially at this time of the year, but I would rather just have my off days and get a normal paycheck.

Yep. It was 1987 and I was working at Burger King. Fast food is definately not the job for me. It was so fast paced it made me confused as hell. I got fired on a Friday evening during the 5:00 o'clock rush hour. I got so confused I put mayonaise on the fish sandwich and tarter sauce on the chicken sandwich. Hell, both of them looked the same on the bun. One of the managers came back there and said "Apparently this isn't the line of work for you so we're letting you go. You can leave now or you can finish the evening if you want". Yeah right. Who the hell is going to finish the evening after getting fired? lol

I will never forget, I got in my car, lit a cigarette, turned on the engine, and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Shitney Houston came on the radio. I tell ya, it was a fucked up day all the way around. lol Back in those days, fast food workers wore those paper hats. One of my co-workers came running up to the car yelling...."Andy, can I have your hat?" lol

falloff @ "Andy, can I have your hat?"

I worked at McDonalds all through high school from '81 through '84, so I remember the paper hats. Plus the uniform was entirely made of polyester, so add the grease from the vats & grills and I was one flammable motherfucker.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

omg I just remembered another time I was fired! lol I was on a film crew for a wilderness film. We had hiked up 3000 feet and when we got to the top of this very tall mountain, the director fired me because I didn't hike fast enough. confused Not that he ever told me that was part of the criteria. The next day I hiked down the mountain by myself and went to a ghosttown.

Let's see:

1. Fired because of a piss test ("medicinal" cannabis)
2. Firesd because my best friend (who got me the job) told the boss she would not support me beyond the 6-month probationary period. I stopped speaking to her for about a year and finally forgave her. When I asked her about the incident several years later, she claimed that the boss had lied. I think not. Her own mother told me she said, "I know I fuck up peoples' lives and I enjoy doing it." Incidentally, she's a Gemini. razz
3. ALMOST fired for using the word "Negro" in an email. Was saved by the university's general counsel because he had the sense to realize the context of what I was saying and that my play on words was "self-deprecating."
3. Fired from my last job because I spoke my mind to the administrator. She was reprimanding office staff for not being supportive of another office. I told her if we were short-staffed, she should step up to the plate, too. She didn't like that and recommended my termination for being "unprofessional."

Afterwards, people were calling me and asking me WTF? I was an excellent employee, but I couldn't keep my mouth shut!

Hi all,

A few years ago, I was a Manager for a software development firm in the QC Department. We basically double checked software that was designed by other programmers.

The president of the company decided to write his own program and because he was the president said "It doesnt need to be QC'ed!"

Thge fucker goes to Switzerland with his creation, it fails miserably, and he comes back pissed.

Calls us into the office, fusses at us, and we tell him we didn't have any knowledge of it.

He fires all of us....

We sue his ass and got paid for it.

Getting fired sucks but get what you gotta get
