Hmm, I see both points on this thread. What it comes down to is how her friend meant this and the attitude in which it was said. If she said something like "I hope it ain't no black guy", then yeah, I'd been offended and asked, "what the hell you mean by that and why you say it like that for"? Yes everybody has preferences, but it seems like in this case, she was doing damage control by saying the other things right after her "i just hope he's white" revelation. She's saying stuff like "oh girl you know I done dated outside my race before", but if she didn't mean it in a harmful way and only in a preferential way, then why was their a need for the backup statements???  It makes you wonder.
Oh and please note: Just because a person dates outside their race doesn't mean that the person isn't racist. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. | |

She did also say that she dosent really want to date him if he wasnt. I've got to say I was initally shocked because I really didnt expect that to come out of her mouth. U should have seen my face and I demanded to know what the Hell difference that made

I proceeded to get even more annoyed as I was saying that my Great Grandmother was English and I sure as Hell would NEVER think like that!!! Then she tried to backtrack with "Oh Chilli u know I've dated men of all kinds" Since when because come to think of it Ive never seen it " I just prefer white men" All I could say was " Leesa I can't have this conversation with u anymore. I have to go." It was that or smack her upside the head. As I walked off I couldn't help wondering what the Hell she thinks of me and her friend Shamita. I havent had any contact with her since, I dont think I will ever look at her the same again 
Have u guys ever had someone u thought u knew say or do something that made u Yes, I have, in fact. A cousin of mine, who I used to be realllll close to, and considered to be the sister that I never had, talked about me several times behind my back to my other siblings. What made it worse was that the first time it happened, and I confronted her, she told me, "I'll always be honest with you", then proceeded to backstab me AGAIN several years later. She also said some things to me that were very hurtful, and needless to say, I no longer view her in the same way that I used to. Luckily, she lives in another state, so I don't really see her all that much (which is okay by me). She has ruined the great relationship that we had, and quite frankly, I no longer trust her.RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |
