IGNORANCE..PESTILENCE..INDIFFERENCE..ILLITERACY..SIMPLICITY..SHALLOWNESS

In light of recent events here and seeing as the powers that be can change the course of any thread as it suits them, I'd like to know of peeps opinions in regards to the abovementioned and what may be the causes to such unbecoming behaviour.

I've noticed more often then not, online and in real life, that peeps seem to find the easy way out of a situation by pointing their boney fingers and blaming others and turning ones opinion into personal attacks. These same peeps in turn, blame others, and thus give up their power to change.

Is ignorance bliss? I think not in any form. The lower the IQ, the lower the desire to learn. The higher the IQ, the more you want to learn. As IQ rises, so does the percentage of the population that question beyond the traps set out. Smarter peeps do question more and aren't afraid to admit to their errors. Peeps with a degree of high knowledge that is achieved and is true (elite knowledge) seem to be happier because they know and are well informed about human virtue and nature.

Hey there. Brava 4 boldly bringing up a serious issue with this site, and the online culture in general. Of course, U know that doing this here, in "General Discussion", a.k.a "Land O' Cliques", means it will get torched.

Your last paragraph is quite true, and an important point, so again, BRAVA!

2 add 2 what U said, I've found that all people will react 2 a challenging situation in only 3 ways...

Run Away
Confront
Accept

I'll take the bait.... lol

so... do you think a person without a degree can not be wise? Do you think someone can be an old fool? What are virtues to you?

So what prompted this specific sentiment? hmmm Are you upset? Why?

another question...

Do you respect all people?

First off, your thread title sounds like the name of a Napalm Death album, but I digress...

I won't get involved in a debate about mods, as I don't come here very often and have no contact with mods or any reason to complain either about them or to them, so I will leave that to people that do.
However, as far as ignorance is concerned, how can it ever be a good thing?
I think the word is used very often to mean something more generalised than actual ignorance, more like just general rudeness, but ignorance is a good word for that. If you are open-minded and accept that other people have differing views and come from different mind-sets (often for a reason) then how can you not be tolerant to their views and their ways, so long as they don't hurt you or those around you?
This is not an exit

Thank you. I do agree with you those 3 reactions seem to dominate a challenging situation and in saying that, confronting defensive peeps (as frustrating as it can be) is a sure way of knowing ones mind as their response pretty much sums up that person's intelligence (or lack of) in a nutshell.

In turn I prefer to try and extend some grace.

I'd hate to say it, but that's borderline ostentatious. Don't get me wrong, PG. I get where you're coming from, but this is kind of bullheaded, here. You have to understand where the non-aforementioned (*Clears Throat*) deictic of this particular thread. I respect this individual as well as you. Let's not be coy or disingenuous with the the transmittance of this message. Convey a rational message for both sides to fairly converge on. It's kind of farsighted and cliquish in itself. I'm just saying.....she's got a point, as do you. But devise a treatise that is diplomatic; not mono-partisan.

Thanks I'll take the title as a compliment, I like to add style to my threads wink

As for the mods, this thread isn't about them in the least, it is as the title states.

Tolerating such behaviour isn't a problem for me but this thread is furthermore about these ignorant beings that do indeed set a personal attack upon others with the intention of hurting them. Why? Perhaps because they cannot seem to accept the differing views of others around them. In my line of study with behavioural sciences I discovered that these same beings did have low IQ's and were more often then not, sociopaths. Being critical, defensive in their ignorance lets them change the conversation away from their own inadequacies and instinctively set up conversations to protect themselves. To be redemptive, a leader must discern, describe, and invite the person into change. A simple golden rule I follow is to never confront power with power, but confront power with the brutal truth.

rolleyes So what about what I said is "unintelligent?" You think it's perfectly fine to seriously degrade a woman because of her body type, calling her "gross" with a complete disregard and insensitivity to those on the Org who resemble her in some ways but in the next breath you're claiming to be a "leader" and possessing some kind of superior knowledge? Then got the nerve and gall, to mention shallowness in your thread title??? hah! Okay, whatevs . . .
