[Edited 12/23/08 8:41am] I've been feeling sad all day. I couldn't help but think of her although I only know her from your stories and some pics I saw back then. Thinking silly things like, she didn't have the chance to listen to Prince's new songs, she only wanted to lay down in the sun, relaxing, having cosy dinners at the beach with her hubby and kid. And only 35 years. Instead of having that careless and deserved holiday this happened, what an absolute shock. Soul sanctuary of Prince.... I already get a lump in my throat listening to this song without this awfully sad story. I already gave my condolences but I would like to give Dave and his daughter lots of strength in this very dark period  I second this. It is things like this that illustrate how real a community this is. I didn't know her at all really, but I'm happy that Dave and Lois will take the love from this thread, and this place, and these people as they keep her in their hearts. That is the saddest thing I've read all year. It's outrageous for that to happen.
I missed the boat parties so I never met Ruth, but I can imagine the fun she brought onboard. Christmas will never be the same again for her family, which is particularly distressing. The same age as myself..live life for today, people. "I'm much too hot to be cool" | |

I'm stunned... so young, and she looks so healthy in that photo, must have been too to go to Dublin, London,.. I don't understand how these things can happen.

| This the saddest thing ive seen on the org. I dont know her but her face does seem very familiar i might of spoken to her at the boat parties, maybe in passing but i wished i did get to know her she sounded like she was a lovely lady.

it is so important that we keep in touch somewhere. i appreciate this web site and i hope everyone has someone to be mindful of them. what if that person had not a friend to even know she had passed??? I'm rarely here on the org, but I'd be remiss if I didn't stop into this thread and offer my condolences to her family.  Any admirer of my music hero who we lose is a great loss. But it was fortunate of her to come to this Earth and experience the great music of our hero. I always try to look on the bright side during these difficult times.

My daughter has since told me she hopes she wishes she grows up to be like me as I want for nothing. I didn't know it was Ruth at the time, but I did meet her briefly on the boat in the summer, she was a lovely lady. Life can be so cruel. My heart goes out to her family and all those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Ruth. There is a crack, a crack in everything - that's how the light gets in. | |
