Ever Been Haunted?

So I had THE worst night ever last night, house was making all sorts of spooky odd noises, then to top it off I felt an ICY breeze underneath my covers right on my feet. Freaked me the F out. Then I had really weird dreams about Keith Urban lol

Ever had a haunting or a creepy experience?

And I kept insulting Nicole Kidman, forgetting they were married.

Me : "Nicole's so prissy and proper, why does she talk weirdly??"

Keith : ".....she's my wiiiiife"

Yes I have. As a child one summer, my parents had gone to bed before I, and I stayed up to watch SNL. The front door was open, with just the screen door shut, and as I was sitting there, I got this odd feeling, so I hurried up and shut the door. So all was good I thought....so, I then went to my room, where the windows were open, due to the fact it was summer and NO A/C. As I shut off the lights, my cat jumped into the window, something he did every night, he was up there for just a few short seconds when he began to hiss and cry, and his fur stood up. Then came the noises that I myself can never explain except saying they were evil sounding. Then came the scratching on the window screen, and my cat hissing even more. I froze in my bed, scared to look outside. First I thought this must be a joke, but if it was the dogs outside would be barking at who ever was outside. I managed to crawl under my covers and crawl to my parents room. The next morning my Dad went to check things out...and he found out that my window screen had been clawed up. I am not sure what was out there, but I am very glad I didn't look. eek

All my life we have had something around us. In my childhood house things went on and we had no choice but to just live with it. Even to this day, my kids, my mom, my brother and I see and feel things that are not the norm to most peeps.

Lucky for us, nothing BAD has ever happened.
Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here

i don't know of a time when i've had a purely "paranormal" experience, though i do believe that ghosts and the like can exist. i don't like the word "supernatural", though. if ghosts are meant to exist, then clearly they're part of nature. nothing "super" about it. shrug

lol

i guess "paranormal" hits closer to home. it's easier to say that something falls outside the boundaries of normalcy than it is to say something falls beyond what is natural. i think?

You know, I am not one to feed into the whole thing...but I walk a very historical trail frequently. It is really fun. Until I get to what is called the "Dead Angle". I live in Marietta, GA and ths city is completely full of Civil War battle fields. The park I walk in is one huge battle ground preserved and commemorated with monuments and such. There is this large open field with an enormous Federal/Union Army monument and it really unsettles me as I walk past. I don't think it's ghosts, but rather a lot of tragic and painful energy still left on the land...

Anyway, I looked up the trail and found this....

Dude is talking about that area of the trail that gets me a little extra alert when I walk that part.

Yes. I can relate Moni.

STORY #1

One day when I was in college, I was in my room (at my parents' house) working on a paper. I was alone in the house with my dog.

My room was at the end of the hall that led to the living room area.

My dog was at my feet while I worked, when suddenly he stood up and looked out of the door and towards the (darkened) living room. He started growling and the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end.

Then he starts barking. I'm like WTF?!?!?

He stalks into the living room and begins to bark at a corner of the sofa. He's sniffing at it, and getting close to it then backing away, then he starts circling it, but staring right at the one end of the sofa, as if someone were sitting there.

I really freaked out, and grabbed him and led him back to my room, where I shut the door and turned up the stereo.

Whoever was visiting me that night really made an impression!

STORY #2

I was also at home one day with a cousin who was visiting for the summer. No one else was home. My parents have an upstairs apartment that no one was living in at the time.

So we're in the living room watching TV, when we hear the unmistakeable sound of someone landing in the kitchen above us. There's a window that had easy access from the garage roof...so if we ever locked ourselves out of the house, that's how we'd sneak in (provided that the apartment was empty).

So we hear the sound that feet make when you land on the floor (as if jumping in from an open window), then we hear footsteps above us - left, right, left, right, left, right - from one end of the room to the other.

We immediately think that a burglar got in, so we barricade the stair door and listen out for more. However, there were no more footsteps. Now we're spooked. Minutes later, my brother and another cousin come home, so we arm ourselves (bats, knives & 1 machete) and head upstairs. [Did I mention we were foolish teenagers at this time???]

We searched room-by-room but there were NO sign of an intruder, and the windows were all shut.

When I was about 4 years old, my family and I were living in some apartments and they had left the curtains open in my room. It was around summertime and bedtime. As the night progressed, strange illuminated shapes appeared outside my window. One looked like a little devil laughing and jumping around. When my parents came in, they were gone and my curtains were closed. Some have said perhaps I was dreaming, but it is still so vivid today as it was back then. Since then, I haven't been able to have any curtains or blinds open at night.

When we finally moved to a house in 1995, we were told that the previous owner had committed suicide outside of the house. They found him with his cats trying to keep him warm. The cats came with the house. Sometimes at night, my mom would feel something grab her foot or would see an extra shadow in the bedroom w/ her and my dad while they were having fun. lol There was always one part of the house that was colder than the rest. When I met a friend whose family is sensitive w/ hauntings, he told me that in that particular area there was definitely something. He felt a sense of regret and said it was probably the previous owner peering through the window. He also told me of some man w/ a hat and mustache who went from room to room in search of something. He told me that the man leaves whenever someone entered it due to the energy disturbance. My cats would always be very alert at times, meow at the door, and follow something around. In 2003, we moved again and I usually get a lil shiver when my cat starts meowing at the door and follows stuff around intently.

So I had THE worst night ever last night, house was making all sorts of spooky odd noises, then to top it off I felt an ICY breeze underneath my covers right on my feet. Freaked me the F out. Then I had really weird dreams about Keith Urban lol

Ever had a haunting or a creepy experience?

boxed

I am not sure what was out there, but I am very glad I didn't look. eek

One summer when I was a child, I was waiting for this cute girls parents to go to bed. Finally when they did she was watching SNL. Just as I was going to make my move and knock on the front screen, she closed the door on me.

Then she went to bed. I was at her open window when her damn cat climbed up there and was hissing at me. I was making scary noises and scratching the screen trying to scare the cat away so I could make my move but the damn cat got louder. I guess she got scared because she then quickly crawled to her parents room.

I never saw her again...oh what might have been.
