hmm.. maybe I should rephrase that.. its a bit too harsh, but thanks for replying.. yeah I was just talking to a friend before and one can really take for granted what one has infornt of them.. when they have lost it all, then they can really appreciate what they had.. its a learning curve not necessarily planned but that strengthens one, I believe nod

That's human nature, unfortunately...if you wanna quote Prince: "The ride up front is better when you've been in the back...and that's a fact." lol lol...

I've learned to be appreciative of sooooo much now in my life and in Life in general...to show it, to recognize it, to acknowledge it both within myself and outside of myself...still working on it, too. I'm not sure how possible it is to do that, though, without going thru some serious "down" moments...

By the way, the exact opposite of this is: Sometimes you have to let go of everything to know what's worth holding on to.

Or something like that lol...

And since you took it there, like Sting says the follwing:

If You Love Somebody Set Them Free

If you need somebody, call my name
If you want someone, you can do the same
If you want to keep something precious
You got to lock it up and throw away the key
If you want to hold onto your possession
Don't even think about me

If you love somebody, set them free

If it's a mirror you want, just look into my eyes
Or a whipping boy, someone to despise
Or a prisoner in the dark
Tied up in chains you just can't see
Or a beast in a gilded cage
That's all some people ever want to be

If you love somebody, set them free

You can't control an independent heart
Can't tear the one you love apart
Forever conditioned to believe that we can't live
We can't live here and be happy with less
So many riches, so many souls
Everything we see we want to possess

If you need somebody, call my name
If you want someone, you can do the same
If you want to keep something precious
You got to lock it up and throw away the key
If you want to hold onto your possession
Don't even think about me

If you love somebody, set them free

The midget pictured below need stop confusing other orgers with his princeless hoe 3rd Hag wife in Houston Texas. He needs to realize that its juvenile and (federal crime persucutable in a federal court of law) to keep going under multiple aliaes to harass/stalk others online on a a message board. Its obvious the man pictured below needs a life an enema to clean himself out b/c he damn sure isn't fooling nobody online or in the industry. He needs to take his nonesense back to HQ or NPG, leave me alone, stop harassing my family and friends, stalking me online/ off ,and illegally eavesdropping in household mentioning my personal/family business online. From now on, I will ignore you from this point on and report you to the authorities and my ISP( Time Warner) because I am tired of the abuse.

hmm...sense of reality? Reality is what we make of it. It's different for each of us.
But I agree, that to be more appreciative of the good, you have to expreiece the bad. The worse you get, the more appreciative you are of the smaller things in life that seemed meaningless before.

I think you can ask/pray for a grateful, appreciative heart. In the book of James, God promises to grant wisdom to those who ask Him for it. There's no reason we can't pray for wisdom about gratitude, about being grateful for what He's done for us or given us.

I think that might go a long way to not taking things for granted or toward not necessarily having "to lose it all" in order to appreciate what's in your life. I haven't lost my parents, but I appreciate them, for example.

Like clockwork, the demented purple pest is up to his illegal tatics by attempting this time to not only harass and stalk me online/off by illegally uncapping my Time Warner Modem through ARP Spoofing with DDos Attack , attacking computer firewall crash by launching DDos Attacks against IP address tampering w/cable TV sound , attempting to eavesdroping through TV speakers /VoIP , interrrupt picture transmission , and interrupt cable box remote operation as previous reported to Time Warner.[/b]
