Jason Kidd Traded to Dallas Mavericks

The west is a BEAST now!

The Nets agree to trade All-Star point guard Jason Kidd and Malik Allen to the Mavericks for Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, Devean George, DeSagana Diop, Maurice Ager, two first-round picks and cash, sources tell Tony Mejia of CBSSports.com.

The Lakers fired the 1st salvo with getting Gasol, then PHX fired back with getting Diesel, and now the Mavs fire back with Kidd. This shit is gonna be crazy come playoff time.

They are going to beat themselves up and in the meantime my Warriors are going to slip by unnoticed right into the Finals!!!!

On a side note, I saw Jason Kidd play a few times in High school (St. Josephs) and then when he went to college at Cal.

Yah, the West is loaded! The Warriors have their work cut out for us. I hope we can land Miller from Memphis.

I also saw J Kidd in high school at the old SJ Gym. Supposedly, he donated (anonymously) over $1,000,000 for their recent gym renovation.

Have you checked out "Game Time" by the Trackrunners?

The Pistons just won their 9th in a row, so they're doing their usual.

If they play D, they have less energy for casting 3's. I have been throwing things at my TV all season. They do play defense at times and are among league leaders in causing turnovers. They just don't have a presence in the middle. They do have the M8E, Monta Ellis, and he's Montazing.

I agree with you. The W's won't win this year, but they are in position to challenge in future years. Besides the Laker's recent move, all of the other deals made in the West are (not quite) panic moves made for the present, not the future.

lol That's why they got Webber...plus they didn't need defense to knock off the # 1 seed last year. Of course they didn't even make it to the Conference finals so.....

Actually the Warriors do have their momnents on D. There have been a few games this year where the Warriors have absolutely clamped down on D in the 4th quarter and blew some teams out. Unfortunately, they don't do that often for whatever reason.

Plus we'll see what old ass C-Webb will do to help the Warriors on D and the boards.

So far, he's only taken minutes from Biedrins, which has hurt us, but I'll give him til after the Break to pass judgement.

They are 2 - 1 with Webber so it is a wait and see situation. Supposedly aquiring Webber is supposed to help the Warriors when they get bogged down into a half court game and he is supposed to help them rebound a little better.

I just hope he doesn't screw their team chemistry up.

cry Man... we needed a great PG, but to give up on Harris so soon is a bit sad for me as a Mavs fan. Stack could back back after 30 days if the Nets buy out his contract. Diop is gone, so the only big guy in the middle is Damp...oh my.

This trade will hurt us in the middle...I see Dirk playing the five spot more after this trade...Looks like they're going to return to the fast pace game that Nelly had in place here. So much for the "Lil' Generals" defensive game mind set... time will tell.

Man.. people thought I was crazy for wanting to trade Dirk for Kobe.

I wouldn't be to proud... He was here in Dallas, but never developed a inside game, to get minutes.. He has room for improvement, with the right system and coaches. I do like his size, he just need to get nasty in the middle.

Well, here's how I look at it:

Devin was good but not irreplaceable. Here you have a HOF PG for about 2-3 more seasons. Diop - No one's gonna miss him, let's be serious here. They can sign a D-Leaguer to do what he was doing. Maybe even Jelani McCoy.
