Yes I have had them many times. Usually I get them right before a migraine.
My mom gets them as well, we find it happens when we are really stressed. The floaters come and then the migraine to follow.

I have them too. I don't know if there is any cure as of yet, but if there ever is, I would like to get rid of them. They're annoying as anything.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I shower once a day, thank you. hmph!

I didn't have them till I went through my irresponsible drug phase when I was a young. I always assumed that I have them now as a hangover from all that. It's quite rare these days, but yeah, it still happens. It's not always in the shower, but for some reason that's where I seem to notice it. lol

I always used to have them but really haven't noticed it lately. Now that I'm typing this I can see them against the light on the screen (guess cause now I'm looking for it).

But I guess it must cause more of a nuisance than I thought since I wear contacts and they tend to become blurry, sometimes all day.

That's probably because you're looking at a clear white (or otherwise evenly bright-coloured) background when you do that. Looking at a clear sky has the same effect. Normally the background is too chaotic for these little variations in the field of vision to be noticable.

only twice, years ago

the floaters appeared very recently so i don't think it's related

it seems laser is the safest option 2 try 2 remove 'em (surgery seems too dangerous), i'm gonna try it as soon as i come back from india in january

me too, I first noticed it back in college (early 90's) if i was in an all-white room. they suck!

my doctor says there's nothing to do until it gets so bad i can't drive; thankfully it's never gotten worse. i'm a bit bummed when it's a beautiful day and there's no cloud in the sky.

i don't think there's a sure treatment. eye removal? laser surgery is not an option for me, on account of the 'betes.

ditto! lol i can't believe i never knew what caused those
and rather surprisingly, this explains a lot too!!

Many times they trick the sufferer into thinking they see something out of the corner of their eye that really is not there.

If I fixed my gaze at a solid-color field, like the sky, I could notice them as a child. Assuming I still have them, they are pretty much invisible to me now.

I used to think I had the super power to "see molecules." redface Too many comic books.

Did you have laser just to remove floaters or for corrective vision? And if you don't mind my asking, that is if it was for corrective, was it for near or farsighted? I'm wondering if it will work for nearsighted persons? (I'm considering laser)

Don't be embarrassed, that's what ran through my mind too when I was young. (I just didn't want to admit it)

Imago

I used to only see one.

Now I see multiple ones, but only when I think about them. I always thought here was something really wrong with me.

Now I see a bunch of them, and I can't stop thinking about them neutral

Thanks for sharing! I like to hear positive stories, gives me hope...

(I had sharp 20/20 before I learned how to use the computer about 7 years ago and I could see the # on the bus from far away. Now, anything just beyond arms length starts to blur.)
