I used to smoke. I started wheh my parents announced they were splitting up. It just felt right for some reason.

I went thru a pack of 10 in a few days or so, and then just had one one day and felt so fucking ill after it, like felt sick, had a headache, felt dizzy, it was weird. So I stopped myself there. I dont really even get the urge to start again. My parents both smoke as well as the girl Im "seeing" and it doesnt annoy me, i just dislike kissing her and tasting smoke!

is it weird that i rarely smoke and i don't mind that at all? lol

I mean, i dont mind it (hey, im getting a good kiss off my girl cool ) but it just annoys me. She knows it does as well haha

i can never tell if you are being serious or sarcastic, but in case you are being serious....

people are too consumed with thier own habits to think or care about who they are supporting financially. people feel they work hard to earn the money they make and feel justified in spending it however they choose. regardless of moral.

unfortunately.

OMG, Shawna! lol

I'm being serious. Though I don't think Carrie's one to disregard such delima's lightly. She's very much concerned for others.

Hell, she's trying to cut down on meat consumption and go vegetarian. Pretty soon, she's going to give SugarGirl away because she eats meat, I just know it.

But as far as Phillip Morris is concerned, they're praying on people, and the only reason it's not more aggressive here in the States, is because of legislation. No such legislation exist in some other countries and they are feeding their crap to the masses, knowing that the younger you start, the less likely you will quit. And there's no need to worry about those countries starting their own legislation against smokers, if the majority of them smoke and are addicted--it would be harder than prohibitions on alchohol in the States--ain't gonna happen.

I'm really trying to be more selective about my choices in products now--I'm not perfect as I enjoy a cheap gap shirt which I KNOW someone is working their ass off to make and get underpayed, but I am trying little by little. Does it help that I'm only buying fairganic coffee when available? I'd like to think so. ky

ohhh..carrie i hope you didnt take it that way!! i dont think that carrie doesnt have regard for people....im not directing any of this personally at anyone.

i am just saying that in america...people like thier habits, and they like holding on to them as tight as they can. and the habits usually win out over the morality.

its tough to be stronger than the advertising/media messages being machine gun fired at consumers (nevermind that we are not even looked at as humans anymore...we are consumers)

i am well aware of the phillip morrice blasphemy. its fucking bullshit. not to mention that the government endorses it in order to ensure that we all stay addicted. the federal government cant very well afford to operate the war in iraq without getting the money from somewhere. the taxes we pay on those things that we choose to do are a direct funnel into the war.

look. dont get me started. lol

maybe a conversation to be had over a bottle of wine someday smile

i know that carrie will quit smoking. she is a strong woman. she is going through what she needs to get the result she wants. every one takes a different road.

Get a perscription. Best way to do it. I mean, you can quit cold turkey, but why go through all that? Zyban completely made me quit, even when I really didn't want to. And Chantrix is probably even better.

Chantix is probably better than Zyban, in that Zyban (since it's really Welbutrin, a mild antidepressant) kind of plays with your mood for a week or two before it settles in. After that, you don't feel it's effects at all, except that the thought of a cigarette is gross. It worked like magic for me. I didn't even get my scrip refilled.

I think I've come up with the ultimate stop-smoking plan. Basically, it's this:

Poop on some cigarettes and then take a good look at them.

From then on, every time you look a cigarette, you'll think of...you know.

Carrie's hesitant to try this, so if anyone else here wants to quit, try my idea. Let me know if it works.

Because if it does, I'll patent it, make $millions and give you a nice commish.
