The words "I Love You"?

What do those three words mean to you?

Do you use those words freely or do you reserve those words for the "true loved ones" in your life?

Natisse

I use the words only with those who I truly mean it... sometimes I can see it makes people back off but it doesn't change the fact

There are different types of love and as long as both parties know the boundary of that love its fine to express it with the words "i love you"

BTW Val.... I love you rose

I hardly ever use those words. Mon says it every day, two or three times, and to be honest I find it cheapens it, especially if we've fallen out over something and she's not in my good books. lol I mean, if she says it when she's pissed me off, then it kinda loses its magic when she says it during a really magical moment of the relationship. I say it when she does or says something that reminds me why I love her so much, or just occasionally for no particular reason when being affectionate. It's not something I say too often though.

But she doesn't love you any less when she's mad at you then when you're having a beautiful, magical moment. That's why I think it's so great to be able to say it freely and often.

I tell my niece and my mother I love them every time I talk to them. And I mean it sincerely every single time. I only see them about once every other month and only talk to them once a month or so on the phone and if something should ever happen to them or me, I want it to be the last thing I ever said to them. Cause it's the most important.

It feels like she doesn't mean it, and feels insincere sometimes. Probably not even that actually. I just think it cheapens it sometimes, I don't know why. It's funny because I'm very affectionate with her and like her being affectionate with me (cuddles, kisses etc.) but for some reason I just don't want to hear those words too often. Sometimes it kinda bugs me. I think I just prefer actions to words and I'm not sure I really feel the sincerity in her words as much as her actions. I suppose she's not great in general at keeping her word so maybe that's why. She does show her love, but the words mean far less to me.

I hear you about telling people you love them when you don't see or hear from them often though. Also, Mon and I never go to sleep mad at each other, and never part upset with each other if one or the other is going out. I think that's important and we seem to be on the same wavelength where that's concerned. No matter what the beef is, you just don't part with your loved one, even for a seemingly routine trip to the shops or something, with all that anger forming the parting words and feelings. Then there'll be an 'I love you' and a hug and it's understood that whatever the problem is it's just a blip and we do still ultimately love each other deeply.

I am the same..if I feel it I say it though I admit I do not feel it for just anyone.
Those who I truly love know it..there are ways to show it besides just words.

How are you? We were just wondering how you were doing the other day.
