Why do I watch these terrible things.

I'm watching "Fur" about Diane Arbus right now, and I suppose it's good enough, except that it sucks.

I watched that one about the sex guy, Kinsey, I saw Capote, Ray etc etc. They all sucked. Capote was okay, but it sucked.

Maybe this one will get better...

I generally like biopics. Bird, Sid And Nancy, Hilary And Jackie, Cobb, Elizabeth, Gorillas In The Mist, Amadeus...the list of good ones goes on and on. Heck, I even enjoyed The People Versus Larry Flynt.

They give us this false sense that we "get" something about these people. Cheap knowledge.

I see they list Goodfella as a biopic on wikipedia, that was good.

P.S. The movie did indeed suck. All these cliched film school images: hairy guys carrying bowls of water and then being shaved, only to give a coat made out of their hair to some prying neighbor.
