i try but sometimes i find that i just can't.

when i find that i can't, i just think, "well, it must make sense for them" and keep it moving. I'm sure there are people who don't understand me as well.

Same. Sometimes I try and sometimes it's just so polar opposite me it gives me a headache so I just stop and go on with something else. lol

If someone's point of view is so opposite, it can be hard to understand why they would think and reason that way... that's usually when I'll agree to disagree

True

Though for me that is when I try to understand the most

I usually learn more about them and myself in the process

true nod I will admit I find it hard to understand when it's a truly opposite viewpoint - although I do still try

In my line of work, I look at points-of-view; then I lock up the one with the dumbest point-of-view.

Of course i do yes. In order to tolerate and work with people we have to understand them and their views. Doesn't mean i agree with them of sometimes even understand WHY they feel that way or how they got there but yes i feel i have to understand the viewpoint in order to get along.

If i want them to do that for me then i owe them the same.
