For a few years now my wife has been seeing owls. Sometimes just flying by, a few times sitting on shoulder height branches while she hiked. A friend of her said the owl must be her "totem"

Last night as she was driving around midnight a giant white owl appeared out of nowhere during a freak snowfall and hit her windsheild, but flew off.

Can anyone shed light on what an owl could symbolize in a persons life?

I started seeing them when I got pregnant, and the father left me to go through it on my own. I would sit outside in the backyard, this was during the summer. We had a deck with a fireplace, and this dove would sit on the telephone wires for long periods....then she made a nest one one side of the fireplace, about four feet away from where I would sit. She would be there every day, and in a weird way, I felt better with her there.

Since then, I see doves almost every time I feel badly, and just saw one last week. Weird when you consider my other thread.

ask her has she had an owl dream? That's usually the best indication.

I think it's not always best to discuss dreams where animal guides visit, sometimes discussing it takes away it's power.

My wife felt awful, but said it just came out of nowhere. She said it almost seemed to come up from the road. I kept telling her there was nothing she could have done.
