overused words?

What words or phrases do you think get used WAY too much recently?

My vote goes to that vague, catch-all; "lifestyle".

People are against the gay "lifestyle."

The late Steve Irwin had an active outdoor "lifestyle".

The trendy new diet pill or plan fits the spokeswoman's "lifestyle".

Wash-n-Go clothes really suit the busy suburbanite's "lifestyle".

At the toy store I work at the section where the baby dolls, kitchen sets, play cleaning sets and other such RealWoman Training Kits are kept is called "Girls Lifestyle".

It's all so meaningless. Most people couldn't even define the damn word in context of how they're using it, but continue spouting it off as if it actually means something. It makes me want to scream. Oh, excuse me. I meant "It makes me want to verbally express my high-volume lifestyle."

What's your most-hated overused word? smile

everything is a "system" now - beds are sleep systems, diets are nutrition systems. enough already.

and if i hear another person say something about "taking it to the next level", i'm going to puke.

I can't stand that. Our baby department sells "travel systems." It's a goddamned stroller! mad

It's like marketing people think adding "system" to the title makes it fancier, and therefore worth charging more for.

I use "apparently" WAY too much..

Amd I've got this bad habit of ending half my sentences with "though" for some reason.

I had a meeting last week and in the course of the conversation, the person used one of my most hated expressions: 'go the extra mile'. barf

Funny how the people who use this are the people least likely to do it. confused

I say 'blimey' too much. I'm not that flabbergasted all the time really so I don't know why I say it so much.

I can't stand it when people say "actually" all through their sentences for no reason mad "it's actually this" and "I was actually that" so bloody annoying!

My boss also says "with regard to" far too often. Like at the start of every sentence. To everyone! Thats annoying too...

Ok thats my post for the day confused Off to class now pout
