Just do what you feel is right, and see what happens. That's all you can really do. HA! See I'm outie... later In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

Dude...Erin and Sweeney are right...
I actually met a guy at the grocery store once and he called me within 15 minutes of me giving him my number...THAT is desparate...not calling a girl the next day. If I got a call from a guy the next day I'd be so excited...I'd know he was really interested in me...wasn't playing games and wanted to see me. How can that be bad?

You have to realize that I got her number after midnight last night. To me, today is too early. The other thing is that she told me she doesn't answer her phone. So, she screens. I wouldn't be talking to her anyways. [Edited 9/6/06 14:03pm]

Yikes. Didn't mean for my response to engender such animosity. Sorry!
I don't like games either, that's why I'm very upfront about my 'conventions' if you will. I'm not a mushy, sentimental type of girl so if a guy called me the very next day, after I *told* him not to, and said, "I've been thinking about you all day" honestly, I might get creeped out. (Yes, I'm weird. lol.) I think it's only playing games if I give the digits and then get pouty, pissy, whatever if the guy does call the next day when he has no idea I really don't care if he doesn't. Same thing if a girl wants a call the next day and doesn't get it and holds it against the guy. How will he know if the girl doesn't tell him? (I'm presuming he doesn't know her that well, since he just got her number.) Doesn't mean any of the response are less honest, it's just that some people prefer different things... Also, I didn't mean to imply that any/every guy who does call the very next day is "desperate/needy." But if I clearly said "don't call me tomorrow" and they do, then I'm thinking,"Why ya need to talk to me so soon? Didn't I just see/talk to you?" I don't think there's any harm in waiting one or two days to call. To flip the question a bit: would you/do you hold it against someone if they don't call the very next day? The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Yeah seriously though.
Just think how cute it would be to call her and be like Hey, I couldn't stop thinking of you and I just HAD to call, hope you don't mind. RATHER THAN Not calling for however long you decide is cool, and the gilrs KNOWS thats what your doing. LAME! Obviously you cared enough to make a thread about it. So instead of asking a bunch of internet creeps, call the girl!

If he's so busy that it takes him a few days to find time to call a girl he really likes, then does he really have time for dating/relationships? I think that, if you really dig somebody, it becomes a priority. That's me, though, and I know that. I hate casual dating. People who just wanna keep it light and aren't seriously crushing on somebody or whatever. . .where there's no serious desire or investment. . . fine. Wait as long as you like. Who cares? oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

Once he realizes he likes her it will become more of a priority; at least that's how it would be for me. That's me, though, and I know that. I hate casual dating. I think it also depends on whether both parties have similiar expectations. If it's made clear whether the dating is casual or serious and one person isn't happy with that, then they can either accept it or move on, I guess... all this stuff is why I think dating is too much work. (or maybe I'm just lazy. lol.) The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found.
