Im trying to be good poxy salad God I hate myself for even bringing this up, but...you smoke, right? I don't get it. Watching what you eat, but smoking? I guess one needs a balance somewhere. Just ignore this post if it bothers you. I just like to help out smokers is all... I just quit AGAIN last week... my whole body is going through mad detox right about now and I feel sick as a dog, but I am so glad I managed to quit again.

I've only smoked for about 6 months, and I only have 1-2 a day, or even none. So its really not my priority yet to stop, or cut down! But the wieght I have piled on while working away from home, eating out on expenses every day and night, IS my priority! Simply because none of my clothes fit! Well done you for quitting

Believe it or not, you'll eventually lose weight from quitting smoking, too... though you will gain some at first.

No lunch for me...
I bought a bacon baguette on the way to work (s'posed to be my breakfast); got in, found out my colleague had the day off , so had loads of work to do. So I only ate it about 20 minutes ago! Saves me pigging out on lunch, though. Roll on tea time! [Edited 9/4/06 4:55am]

I just quit AGAIN last week... my whole body is going through mad detox right about now and I feel sick as a dog, but I am so glad I managed to quit again. man i know what you mean. i know EVERYTHING about food, and i mean absolutely everything down the the molecular level. my dream would be to turn this kinda overblown hobby into my profession. so i watch what i eat, most of the time, and eat lots of stuff that "normal" people never even heard about, all for the purpose of being healthy. and yet, at the same time: i smoke i can quit pretty easily though, no withdrawal symptoms anymore (had them oh the first ehm 15 times or so but not anymore lol). so it's easy for me just to quit and not smoke for a week or two. but i always start again on weekends, going out with friends, telling myself the usual self pitying delusional crap all of us smokers tell ourselves. how one cigarette isn't the end of the world, how we'll quit again on monday. and it wouldn't be half as bad if i hadn't just spent the entire day juicing fresh vegetables and fruits, eating granes and seeds and boiling quenoa from an aztec mountain sloap for dinner with fresh tomato's and home grown herbs. sometimes people (i.e. myself) are so damn contradictory and stupid and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I bet there's a market for that! "Someone out there is a marketing genius. This person has suckered a very large number of people into believing that organic cigarettes are better for you than regular cigarettes. I can't tell you whether or not organically grown produce is actually better for you than commercially grown produce. What I can say is that you can actually purchase ripe organic tomatoes in January. You can't say that about your usual grocery store tomato. I guess in an organic cigarette, you can guarantee that your carcinogens were harvested at the peak of freshness and grown without any type of pesticide." – The Angry Fat Man well! I'll be damned!

I see your point about there being not much point in eating well but smoking, but I must raise it with this At least we're doing something right! I'm eating the chocolate, by the way

I'm eating the chocolate, by the way lol. that's what i tell myself too! and i guess there is some truth in it. at least a variety of the content from healthy whole foods contains some protective nutrients that specifically protect you from lots of the stuff in cigarettes. oh and i just had a double chocolate chip cookie this thread is making me hungry and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Oh my god Isten, i just wrote the most detailed response and accidentally deleted it!
Here's the basics: Think of the smoke you're blowing out as your life force, because basically each time you blow that shit out, it's at least 7 seconds of your life gone. And all it takes is one little carcinogenic molecule to hit a healthy cell in the right way and you're a goner. So my advice... quit now... you may still be living on borrowed time, but at least it'll be healthier time and you may just get lucky and die of natural causes! Intense as all of that is, I feel this issue can never be addressed enough, because I feel that smokers really need a good scare before they truly quit. My scare was last weekend. Yours hopefully will come soon. And John Lennon was right, Sir Walter Raleigh WAS such a stupid git! . [Edited 9/4/06 5:28am]
