i have an addiction... to the body shop's home fragrance oils!!
and damn it they keep adding new ones to their line that are just sooo nice! right now you save a couple bucks if you buy three but i had to restrain myself by thinking of all the little vials i already have lined up on my kitchen shelf. i could easily have bought three more... line dried cotton, green tea and african spa were all lovely i walked into the store thinking i would love orange blossom but i like the mandarin one better. the papaya one makes you want to eat it it smells so good. right now i have blueberry thyme warming on my oil ring () and my previous favorites of calm water and tobacco flower get forgotten on the shelf. i don't use them that often. if you came to my house you probably wouldn't even notice a scent. i guess that's why i have so many bottles. i buy but i don't use them up. anyone else addicted to this stuff?

you can spend a couple dollars or twenty on an oil burner like this before oil burners there were lamp rings - the metal ones got too hot and gooey and the terra cotta ones fall off the bulb and break but i am thrilled with the felt rings i found - they warm gently, you can reuse them for a long time and if it falls off the bulb there is no harm done. and they are cheap!

i like your first choice better... i'm more of a clean lines kinda gal the dolphin is going to heat the oil too quickly because the bowl is too close to the flame.

I had a white dolphin oil burner like the one shown above. So that is what it was for... and those little bottles that came with it... now I know.
Perhaps, once and for all I will stop using these... for more years than I can count...

Perhaps, once and for all I will stop using these... for more years than I can count... i used to use these... now im strung out on this... lasts at least a month, which the others dont. and it changes its scent every few hours i guess so you actually dont get used to the smell ... i guess thats why they call them Febreze NOTICEables One of the best days of my life... http://prince.org/msg/100/291111

i forgot to mention the even lower tech option... you just put a couple drops of oil on to a 60 watt bulb. ughh... so yeah, i guess. without the rubbing bit and not any wattage higher as the key to nice oil is to warm it slowly and for a short period of time . [Edited 4/29/06 14:21pm]

I have a similar jones: I add the oils to an old, clean t-shirt along with my fabric-softening dryer sheets. Adds a cool, subtle fragrance to my clothes and linens.

I have an addiction to MAC make up. I sit there and convince myself that it is something I NEED rather than want.

The limited-edition oils which the Body Shop sell sometimes are traded on eBay like they're crack!
emm, did you realise that different countries sell different oils? I used to like their coconut body oil, but you can't get it in the UK now - but it's being produced somewhere in the world, because there's loads of it on eBay.
