The Kate Moss Debacle I don't get why there is such a big deal. It's not like they didn't know she was (or most models are) addicted to drugs.
It's a shame though...Soon she's gonna find herself homeless, penniless and needing a fix. Christian Zombie Vampires

It's the British press. They're insane.

Is that what it is. They are about to do a program showing Media in the right with this.
A controversial documentary featuring footage of shamed supermodel Kate Moss allegedly snorting cocaine will be broadcast on British TV next month. U.K. satellite channel Sky One says the show -- called "Kate Moss: Fashion Victim?" -- will capitalize on intense public interest in the beauty after Britain's the Daily Mirror newspaper published photographs of the 31 year old apparently taking drugs. A spokesman for Sky says, "The documentary aims to paint an honest picture of the landscape that formed the backdrop to the saga and, in a worldwide exclusive, features video footage of the widely reported incident involving Moss and her self-confessed heroin addict boyfriend Pete Doherty.

Sky One is just an identikit tabloid channel owned by Rupert Murdoch.
You'd never see an expose of this sort on any of the BBC channels. Maybe on Channel 4 (which is state-owned but privately funded by advertising) - but even then it would be tongue-in-cheek. I mean, BBC3 screened a documentary just the other month ago, called "Who The Fuck Is Pete Doherty?" which explored his drug-fuelled lifestyle and relationship with Kate Moss. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that druggy rock musician x supermodel = mega drug-use.

Maybe this will encourage her to branch out into other areas of business, like many ex and current models have done (exercise, clothing lines, other business ventures), rather than continue to be a party-girl, relying purely on her face/body/fame. I mean, she's 31 yrs old now; it's time to get a grip.
Of course, it's pretty obvious that this industry is rife with drug abuse/addiction, but that doesn't mean that someone being paid millions of dollars to be the "face" of a company shouldn't be held to certain standards. I"m pretty sure Kate must've signed some sort of contract which included details about the repercussions of drug use and legal troubles while being signed with H&M, Rimmell, etc. If she violated her agreement, well, then.... No she won't. She has plenty of rich friends that will keep her afloat until she finds a way to cash in on her "scandal". I ain't worried about her, she didn't live in 9th Ward N.O., she'll be alright... . [Edited 9/29/05 0:44am]
