Actress Isabel Sanford Dies

LOS ANGELES - Actress Isabel Sanford has died at a Los Angeles hospital.



Sanford was best known for playing Louise "Weezie" Jefferson on the long-running sitcom "The Jeffersons."


Her manager says she died of natural causes. No word on details. Earlier this year, Sanford was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

I had a feeling this was gonna happen very soon. I saw her on a award show not too long ago and she had to have "George's" (Sherman Hemsley) assistance getting on stage... I thought then, Oh my... she's not doing so well.

and now this... sad

Sad news indeed! The Jeffersons is one of my alltime favorite shows. Isabel Sanford was the first (and so far only) black actress to win a comedy Emmy. What a loss. sad

Yeah, I saw that show too, she seemed in pretty bad shape. And Sherman Hemsley was so sweet with her.
