You know what? ...I'm perfectly fine with Prince not being 'commercial' anymore. I mean, not evryone an stay on top, hell even madoona & MJ are starting to slip. So what if it's not cool to like Prince? As far as I'm concerened, he doesn't need to be commercial again.
I have no problem with the fact that Prince is a JW, let him beleive what he wants. He definately seems to be more at peace with himself. You can tell. Now as far as the NPMC goes, let them agree and harp on ever single word Prince says, if that's what makes them happy, why not? In fact, I'm glad Prince has "changed", so to speak, I mean, you have to admit, "rainbow children" is a hell of a lot better than "rave". I think musically, he's in a great place now. In the 20+ years I've been a prince fan I've noticed one thing: always expect the unexpected, just sit back and enjoy the ride. As soon as you get comortable he changes. Beleive me, I've tried to figure what he was gonna do 'next' since '82, I've never been right. As long as the music is good, I have no problem with Prince whatsoever. Now if the music ever does go bad, that's when I have a problem. I'm not kissng his ass, in fact, I don't agree with his religion, but hey, what can i do? Sitting here and bitching about it isn't gonna do a damn thing. okay, I'm done. ~KiKi

My only problem with Prince not being commercial anymore...He promoted the hell out of Rave which was a real stinker. I have a friend who hadn't bought a Prince CD since Parade and he went out and bought Rave because he saw Prince on every talk show in the country promoting it. I never heard the end of that"mistake". And then he comes out with a brilliant CD like the rainbow children and he does nothing to promote it. And after Rave, people that might have been interested in a "comeback" may have been alientated. **************************************************

true...but would he have been able to live up to "the rainbow children" hype? i mean it would've probbaly be '85 all over again. 'cause had "rainbow children" been a huge success, you know he wouldn't have followed that blueprint for the next album. Like Susan Rogers once said "once he has done something he considers it old and tired, he's on to the next thing". So sure, 2000 he may have been 'back', but by now he would've been a 'sellout' all over again. [This message was edited Sun May 11 15:04:38 PDT 2003 by lovebizzare] ~KiKi

Well, yes, to a certain degree it is, but, as I've said before it's a hell of a lot better than where he was, say, 4 years ago. So for that, I am VERY grateful ~KiKi
