I've done a lot of relaxers over the years, and in my experience...some folks can have relaxer on their head til their hair falls off! (as is the case for many of the home perms that I nurture back to life when they show up on my salon chair) Seriously...although I base 100% of the relaxers I do, some folks complain of burning right away, whereas others can have the stuff right on the scalp and not say a thing! :O | |

Sadly, rdhull...you do have a point there... I have some customers whos hair is rather tough to relax, and you can see the sweat form...until they finally blurt out...AHHH... now, now... get this shit off my scalp NOW...
But that's rare...
On the other hand, a close friend of mine used to relax her hair regularly - about 3 years ago, she had premature twins (at 25 weeks gestation!!! they are doing awesome now)...NOW? It don't matter if we use REVLON Super, or Hawaiian silky...whatever... her hair WON'T straighten... we think they pumped her up with drugs that are forever in her body.  It's just too much of a coincidence that her hair won't take...  | |
