Prince vs. Michael Jackson tribute party in S.F. 11/01/02

Eighties clothes and music is back in fashion and apparently so is Prince and Michael Jackson. Years ago in '87 they were to appear together on Michael's song "Bad" but it never happened. Well here's your chance to experience the ultimate tribute to both these superstars on one night. Bomb Hip-Hop presents this special Halloween weekend party jam with dj's Dave Paul & Jeff Harris spinning music from The Time, Vanity 6, Sheila E., The Jackson 5, Janet Jackson and all the Prince & Michael music you can stand from yesterday, today and tomorrow! Plus a video screen showing rare and classic videos from all the artists. In a battle who would win, The Purple One or the King of Pop? Who cares... this is the perfect night out to lounge with some friends, get your drink on and dance your ass off if you want to. If all the Prince and Michael gets to be too much for you just hit the back room for hip-hop, funk and reggae with dj's King One & Ross Hogg. Two parties for the price of one, now it doesn't get much better than that! Friday, November 1st. 21+, 9pm-2am, $10. Storyville - 1751 Fulton @ Masonic.

TheBayNPG girls are the finest! Thank you to all that came out to Storyville in San Francisco last night (11/01/02) for the "Prince vs. Michael Jackson" party presented by Bomb Hip-Hop Records. As an old time Prince fan and former collector it was great to see approx. 200 people digging this jam. And I have to admit, all the girls I met from BayNPG are HOTTIES! Nothing better than to play music for the beautiful ones. I wish I would have had time to actually have a conversation with some of y'all but you were all so highly explosive that I'm sure the words would have been coming outta my mouth like the b-side of Sign of the Times 12"... "La, la, la, He, he, he." Special shouts to GiGi, Patricia and I think (I'm bad with names) Cassandra, Stacey and Anamarie. At least that's who I think it was, my mind was so fryed thinking of the next record/video to play that I could be wrong so if you came up to me at the dj booth and said HI email me so I can put the correct name with the face. And the Winner of ROUND ONE is - Prince of course! Michael held his own with Billy Jean (music video), P.Y.T., Working Day and Night etc. and had help from his family - What Have You Done for Me Lately and All For You (Janet), Shake Your Body Down To the Ground (Jacksons) and the classic Jackson 5. But in the end Prince hit Michael with body blows, uppercuts and eye jammies with When Your Were Mine, If I Was Your Girlfriend, Let's Work, Controversy, Gett Off, Erotic City and music videos for Kiss, I Wanna Be Your Lover and Peach. Sheila E. sucka punched Janet with Glamorous Life and Love Bizarre but the Jackson 5 were too much for The Time. For some reason we thought Prince's "Head" would of gotten a bigger crowd response... hmmm, guess that song isn't as taboo as it used to be. Due to time constraints we never got to play 1999, Irrestible Bitch, Freeworld, Hot Thing and Housequake... sorry. Look for those to be played during ROUND TWO in December. If you would like to be added to our email list to receive info about upcoming parties in San Francisco shoot me an email - bombusa@mindspring.com Thanx and I'm out like Janet's chest in the Scream video... ...PRINCE by TKO!

We definitely didn't know what to expect at
the Prince vs. MJ Party and in all honesty
wasn't really trying to hear MJ either.
We only came expecting to hear a couple Prince
songs and maybe seeing a few purple headz...boy,
were we WRONG!

As soon as Stacey and I got there, we saw a
vision of sexiness coming up the street in
black and lace...it was none other than
my boy Mike! He was definitely reppin' the P
(think WDC video)! It was ON now! We were all
warmly greeted at the door by DJ David, "the white
guy" wink

As soon as we grabbed our table next to the
dancefloor, I noticed 2 yummy menz staring at us,
so I walked over and found out it was The C and Bad,
from the Org, who were also at the Bay Fam Prince ‘Q
in August!

As promised, they played Prince and MJ songs and
videos, one after the other. I don’t recall seeing
anyone dressed up as “MJ fans”, but peeps were
definitely feelin’ BOTH! I must say, tho …..ain’t
nobody BAAAD like Prince FreaX! We had the whole
place feelin’ our FIRE the whole night! As always,
we got the Soul Train Line goin’ strong (thanx for
playing Sexy Dancer for me, David!).

Special shout out to the Freax who turned that
mutha out….Stacey, Mike, Chaz, babybro Sam, Mari,
Alex, Anamarie and Christopher, Cassandra, Bad and C,
Moni, Lisa, and can’t forget the Partyman who always
makes a grand entrance and keeps the funk
flowin’, that sexy beast the
B to the O to the double-B-Y…!

Much Luv to David for puttin’ it down in a major way,
can’t wait for the next one!

~Peace, LO+>e, and Blessings,
GiGi

P.S. Thanks for the party souvenir CD!

Can't make it to out to our monthly Prince vs. Michael Jackson party. Having a special event? You don't live in the Bay Area? No worries. Let me bring the party to YOUR CITY! That's right, you can book me to bring the Prince vs. Michael party to your area. Just find a club or bar with a DJ system to have the party at, pay for my roundtrip airline ticket and give me a place to sleep for the night and we'll have a purple party. After expenses are covered whatever we make at the door we will split 50/50. You can usually find a place for free where you keep the door and the venue makes money at their bar. Some places may charge you for their security which is usually $100 per security guard with it ranging for 2-4 security depending on the size of the place and how many people usually go there. Either way we can charge $10 at the door ($5 during the early part of the night). I'll even design the flyer for you! If interested email me at bombusa@mindspring.com David (bomb hip-hop)
