Hi everyone. A ? about playing Prince songs on guitar. Hi everyone. I'm really keen on takeing up the guitar and have decided that I'm going to start saving for one as of today. I've never played before but I'm keen on learning.
I was wondering if you could recomend some catchy Prince songs that would be good for a beginer and maybe post the tabs up (I don't understand the tabs right now but I'm sure I'll learn how to read them when I start practicing) One jam I really want to learn how to play is Peach (w/ Chaos and disorder) like Prince did in Act II after shows and on the Sacrifice of victor video. (Or just Chaos and disorder if Peach is too dificult) Does anyone know how to play this jam on guitar and if so could you post how you post it on here. I'd really like to preform this one at Prince party's once I get good. NOTE: THIS ACCOUNT IS NOW CLOSED. PLEASE CONTACT “K A M L L E”

Great, there are a lot of Prince songs that you'll have fun playing.
One of the easiest is "Little Red Corvette". If you want tab, go to Yahoo or Google and search for "Guitar Tabs". Then, select a site and do a Prince search. That's the best way to get tabs. I'll be happy to post the chords for "LRC" and for "Peach". (I'm posting "LRC" in the key of G, because I forgot what key Prince played it on "1999", and I always play it in G.) Here's "LRC": C I guess I should have known by the D Way you parked your car side- G -ways that it wouldn't last C You're the kind of woman who be- D -lieves in making out once G Love 'em and leave 'em fast C I guess I should have known D You had a pocket full of horses G Trojans, some of them used C But it was Saturday night D I guess that makes it all right G You said what have I got to lose? And honey I said C Little D Red G Corvette C D G Em Honey you're just to fast, yes you are C Little D Red G Corvette C D You need a love that's going to last The rest of the verses and choruses are exactly like that. It's a very easy song to play, and I hope you have fun with it.

OK "Peach". Sorry for the length of the "LRC" post, but I figured this way is easier for a beginner to follow.
The beginning of the song, or "lead line", is very simple. It's two strokes each of the following chords: Db B Bb A Ab Gb Ab (just one strike of this chord) All the verses (there are now choruses) go like this: (Still playing Ab from lead line) She was Db Dark, she was tan, she made me glad to be a man. She was Gb young, she was smart, just one Db Glance, and she stole my heart. The Bbm kind of girl you wanna Gb Teach, She's a Lead Line Peach!

The following is more accurate and easier for a beginner to play, replacing most G majors with Emin7:

When U Were Mine was the first P guitar lick I learned - very easy to play. I'll put together the tab for it as soon as I'm done mailing out these press releases, doing an in-store, and then holding that meet-n-greet over at Tower Records for the NFO!
