The newz area at the site has been updated with a report that Prince and Mani were at The Front last night and debuted 2 new trax before heading over to another joint called Jazzmines.

A little quip from the administrator saying basically that this was Prince's music club and he debuted the new trax elsewhere... shame on you skippy.

Kind of cool to hear that new music is still being made... wonder if we'll get some jelly soon...?

By the way folks... where is The Front and Jazzmines?

Neva mind... these clubs are in the Mini-apple(for those of us who lived there in the '80's).

He's at home cookin' up new stuff... me thinks this is good no...

Here's what it says in the "Music Club Newz" section:

may 15 - FLASH: PRINCE and MANUELA graced The Front with their presence and kicked 2 new jams Wednesday Nite!!! Then, they headed ova 2 Jazzmine's where they hung out with DARREN HENSON, star of the Showtime series SOUL FOOD. This is HIS Music Club and we don't HAVE the JAMS first?! Shame on u, Skippy!

that last sentence is extremely bizarre - any thoughts?

thos whole thing is bizarre. manuella plays no instruments nor does she sing. hell, she doesn't even tap her toes when the music IS playing. so how could 'they' have debuted two new songs!?

oh phew! i didn't think she'd start playing with the band.

who do you guys think is actually writing that stuff? is prince pre-emptively criticizing himself? or are the moderators getting tired of taking the heat for the lack of music?

As you suggest I think it is more a case of Prince pre-empting "our" criticism. Xpectation is so high for new tracks he knows some NPGMC members will moan and groan about these new tracks being previewed somewhere else.

I'm not sure if he's really aware of that.

The site's moderators have mentioned a few times that they are not Prince, they just get his approval before making changes.

I think the post is silly and a little jab at Prince by the modertators for him not releasing the stuff through the site first.

i've started threads on here AND at the club trying to get someone who was there to say what they sounded like.

i get the point you're making though. ricco's been posting all over about how he was there, this and that, but hasn't mentioned how they SOUND at all.

the music has become so secondary.
