Dallas Texas Review & Observations LONG POST WARNING
I have been to about 8 different concerts including both celebrations and last night's show was the best one I have seen period. His energy level was thru the roof. The following review will more than likely ramble and ramble on but try to keep up. I didn't write the setlist down (this will be a test for my memory) but I'll do my best. We will be focusing on the music and especially the DRAMA. but be warned this is a spoiler alert! If you don't want all the surprises or twists of the show told, stop now... (some of you guys from the Houston show were a little too eager to tell us every stage direction and spotlight configuration before it happened, but it was cool how could you not want to tell-all after seeing this thang!) I got there around 1:30 and there were about 15 others in front of me (Hi I'm Scotty - First Avenue shirt, goatee and my wife Gina - long blonde hair white shirt). My buddy Paul was already there (he was second on the list from 10:30 am!), somebody had already started THE LIST, I had also brought the bad news about the soundcheck being cancelled. After showing everybody there and bumming them out. I put the note away after a rough reaction from a girl who had driven four hours just for the aftershow,,?!, (he still will be playing that night everybody its cool.relax) So, everything was running smooth, and around 4:30 or so we all decided to pull out THE LIST and get this thing started. So by this time there were quite a few people in line 100-200? Everything was working out pretty good, until, blammo, we have our first crazy person sighting!!! The Turqoise Lady (as she will now be called) refused to sign THE LIST and stood around the front of the line. She was getting a few looks from the rest of us, then this other guy came out and caused more confusion by telling everybody that THE LIST didn't matter and security said it would be a mad scramble for seats at 6. So after this little sidetrack, which was true, everybody religned up along the side of the building, except for The Turqoise Lady. who refused to move and said she didn't give a fig about us or THE LIST, she was heading in ahead of us, afterall she had a confirmation number... Funny, so did all of us! Anyway the list prevailed and Stacy (thanx) helped enforce the list. Then the tornado siren went off and they sent everybody inside to the basement. We waited around for a little while and then I had crazy sighting #2. This Maxwell look-a-like and his girl walked up to the loose line and tried to get in front. Some people were saying that she said she deserved to be in front because she had God and if that wasn't enough she had MONEY and your not respected unless you have money. ANYWAY, we reformed the list and they started letting us get our wristbands. This girl and guy were trying to get ahead of everybody but Stacy held them off for a little while. Of course The Turqoise Girl was still trying to move ahead of people... So we pick up our wristbands and Bambi starts up as we head in. We go all the way down to the FRONT ROW right of the mic as the speakers are blaring in front of us (Prince later apologized for playing so loud haha). After that crazy #2 made her way down and set behind me. She made some wierd signs and Prince picked up on it and asked to act normal like everybody else, but she still let her make a speech from her seat. She and her man smelled like a brewery and she definetly had to be on something. Prince told everybody that demons walk among us and if people throw up signs at you throw one back at them ( I think he had one in mind). He then sang all of Paisley Park and left for the show. The chick behind me got wierder and wierder and security took her out later. Funny her man snuck back in to the orchestra pit later and left her behind, they pulled him back out before the show started. The show opened with the Rainbow Children. The sound was incredible in the music hall! He went in to Muse 2 the Pharoah. He got behind the keys for that, 2FUNKY. Then he just jammed. Lots of solos by all the band members. Lots of songs from the Rainbow Children. The audience really seemed to be into it. Funny this morning radio shows were saying how nobody enjoyed it because he didn't play PURPLE RAIN, haha. That's not what I witnessed seems that everybody was really having a good time, He mixed enough classics in (and full versions) that everybody was singing along... (Take Me With U, Raspberry Beret, Anna Stesia, Question of U ,Adore with a shout to Erykah Badu) He really jammed on 1+1+1=3, the Houston guys said he stopped short on this song for them. He also played la la la means I love you, I wanna be your lover, Strange relationship, good lord!!! Sorry the set list is out the window I cannot remember what order it was in. On How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore he let my friend Kevin scream into the mic and he blew Prince away, too funny. After about 3 hours the show ended too soon, it was really unbelievable! The after party was at the Red Jacket. Everybody got in line and everything was really smooth getting in. The members really didn't get to go in ahead of other people because nobody was really checking, but you got in free with your pass. Once inside members got to go down on the dance floor for the show. The sound was great inside the club and I knew we were going to be in for a great show as they were setting up. To the left of the stage, up some steps Erykah Badu and India.Aire (i think) were dancing). India.Aire had this bright white robe on and she was really getting down to the house music. She started backing up as she was dancing and she fell backwards over what looked like a bench I guess she was alright but she never sang. ? The show started and Prince came out on stage with Badu and sang Didn't Cha Know Then he started to light the guitar up, he was really energetic. The band played thru The Ride, Alphabet Street Pass the Peas. Buddy Miles was there and he sang a little onstage. Prince capped off the afterparty with Calhoun Square - dang, Beautiful Strange - double dang, and "you gotta have touch" sing-a-long, and the Rainbow Children. I'm glad we live downtown, the aftershow was over an hour to an hour and a halflong, I was drained after that!!! Anyway great show... Later, Scotty

Simply Phenomenal...One Nite Alone W/ Prince In Dallas
Hey Guyz...this is "Ronni," better known as the "Line Girl" at the Prince concert in Dallas. Man, didn't he rock the house?!?!?! Gosh, I don't know when my "high" is going to come down. And the AfterParty was jammin...the band...I think I'm at a loss of words. Damn, they sounded good. I was really glad he played "Anna Stesia." I LOVE that song. I never realized how many other people admired that song, let alone the "Lovesexy" album. Gosh, why couldn't it be One Week Alone w/ Prince exclusively 4 the NPG Music Club in Dallas??? Just rock it all week long in D-Town. Boy, that would be the bomb!!! "Turquoise Lady" & "Karma Girl," what was the dealio??? I guess there's going to always be those who try to spoil the fun...but it was cool because as soon as I entered the soundcheck & heard the love flowing from Prince's guitar, all thoughts of negativity & ignorance escaped the atmosphere. I would write more, but I'm a little tired at the moment & for some reason I've been singing, "Around The World in A Day" all day. I'm sure the guyz at work think I was really buggin'...but if they experienced what we experienced, they would be in another dimension (as well). I don't think that was India w/ Erykah's crew. I believe that was just one of her homegirlz. One of guyz who was w/ me greeted Erykah & her crew when they stepped out of the limo & he chatted w/ them 4 a little bit...he said India Arie was not apart of the group. Shout Outz & love to the guyz from Houston...man, y'all were cool, Scott & his Sis, Tamera, the bros. from Austin, the homies from Savannah, GA & Killeen, DeAnn & Dawn, the couple from Oklahoma...Happy Birthday & thanks 4 all of your kindness, Susan...you're the woman...Rock On!!!, the couple/friends from Arkansas, dude who added a special touch to "Why Don't U Call Me Anymore?" Mike & his wife & the remainder of the 10:30 AM - 2 PM crew. I hope U all had a safe return to your destinations. Holla at yo girl!!! Letz keep the love from the Family at the "One Nite Alone" Dallas burnin'!!! I Wish U Heaven Sharonza "Ronni" I Wish U Heaven...

I sat next to "turquoise lady" and her friend at the show. I got there pretty late, and still got a 5th row center seat (Twas a damn good seat! Thanks Lolinex for looking out for a brotha!) She was pretty pissed off about the line thing, so much so that she took the time to tell me about it....up until showtime. Boy was I glad the music started so that I didn't have to tell her my opinion. Her guest was pretty nice and seemed rather impressed by P, but TL did seem rather intense about the whole thing. I'm glad I got to hear ev'body elses story....she made it seem as if she did nothing wrong and all the members jumped her. Serves her right for tryin to cut!!! ______________________________________
