One Nite Alone: Avery Fischer Hall, NYC

I just woke its not now almost 1:30Pm the next time and my head hurts my feet hurt. Yesterday was probably the longest day of my life. Over 6 hours of stand for 150 bucks, some say that is a bargain for 3 awesome shows, but my feet are telling a whole different story razz

Some people got to Avery Fischer Hall from what I understand as earlier as 8am!?! People didn't really start arriving to like noon. They created a list of names, but in the end that was fruitless because they didn't enforce it and everyone almost trampled the more ushers to get the joint. My suggestion to the NPGMC is to communicate more with Security and the Ushers and let them know EXACTLY what your plans are. There were a few arguments online, but nobody go injured this time.

Sound check started around 6pm, full band was there including Candy Dulfer who didn't play that night instead Maceo Parker did, but Candy ripped an awesome solo at both the soundcheck and the after party! Prince was very funny all night and Audience even beyond the NPGMC members gave him a lot of love. The crowd's energy was even bigger then in the Celebrations. It was amazing. Highlight of the sound check was Power fantastic. Never in my life expected to hear that live! It was very cool of Prince to let a fan jam on stage with him during the soundcheck until his wife blew it by taking a picture sad

The show its self was a variant of the other shows you read or seen. It was great to hear a lot of the "The Rainbow Children" songs played instead of his standard set of tired greatest hits. His band is tight. The new keyboardist is like a mad scientist. I was blow away, but the stuff he was doing up there. Mr. Hayes is definitely not missed! Some things were changed or replaced in the set, but not much. Prince was so hyped by the crowd that he played with a lot them and broke into a lot of extended solos to drive the crowd crazy. Most amusing moment of the night was when Larry Graham came on stage with his wife and security guard jumped on stage to take him off. We almost hurt ourselves laughing smile. The encore of Prince alone on the piano was amazing. Especially with the addition of Purple Rain. This probably one of the best Prince shows I have been to in a long time.

The aftershow was "The World" aka "The WWF Restaurant", we stood outside [YES MORE STANDIN'!!] for maybe over and hour starving and dehydrated. There was a lot of confusion on what we should be doing on the line and Security was no help. One of them had us jumping back and forth over a big metal barricade. That definitely was not fun. When most of us were going to start give up and leave they finally let us into the aftershow. That was about 1am. NPGMC members got in free. Guests and all other had to pay 30 or 40 bucks. I am not sure if anyone is familiar with the WWF restaurant, but they have a big caged pit in the middle where people can stand and pier along the side which are normally set up with tables during the day. Everyone crowded into the pit and I went off to the right side by the bar and chilled with Marcia, Teresa and Kourtney cause I was burnt out!

Show start about an 45 minutes later. Prince opened with Joy in Repetition, Larry Graham joined him for most of the aftershow on Bass [course it had to be turned up louder then normal razz]. So of the people that appeared on stage were George Clinton, Doug E Fresh, Musiq Soulchild. Quest Love, and Alica Keys! Awesome night. It was like 3 shows of 150 dollars!

Anyway I need some food, and I know more people have stuff to say about the show so I won't take up anymore of your time...
