Prince Tore The Roof Off NYC! Yesterday's soundcheck, concert, and afterparty were AMAZING!!!!
I'll leave all the details to someone else, I just want to say that Prince was in classic form. They let us into the soundcheck around 6p. Prince was already playing with the band. He continued until a little after 7p...was very playful, sat in the seats and sang "Extraordinary". Candy Dulfer and Maceo played at the soundcheck. However, there was no appearance from Candy during the actual concert. The concert went from about 8:05p to 11p. The set was expanded a little from previous shows, I think. He did a full version of "Purple Rain" including a long speech about the Bible. Q-Tip came on stage for a few minutes but made no significant impact. Larry Graham was also up there for a minute just dancing around. The aftershow was the highlight of the night. Prince jammed until 4a! Larry had the bass for a while, then Rhonda, then Prince. Maceo and Candy were both on stage. Prince jammed with Musiq Soulchild, George Clinton, Doug E Fresh, and Alicia Keys! (Alicia and Prince did HCUDCMA together.) Ahmir (?uestLove) was in the audience (along with Chris Rock and others) but was just watching. Prince ended at 4:10a with "The Everlasting Now". WOW!

Oops sorry that was supposed to go on IrishEcho's thread! (only joking IrishEcho, I thought your report was fine too) Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Can anyone name any other artist out there that can jam for that long...Damn Prince...confirm the LA shows GODDAMN IT! I am sooo happy for NEW YORK!!! After all you guys had to go through waiting for a Prince concert, not to mention the obvious tragedy of Sept. 11th, this is truly a beautiful thing!
Prince and Alicia doing "How Come" must have been truly A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! I can't wait to talk to Derek!!!!

Amil, you forgot ?uestLove guested on drums while Musiq performed. "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32
