Atlanta aftershow It's late, but I wanted to just give a little info about the aftershow here in Atlanta. It was after the second Atlanta show at the 1150 club. This is a beautiful club and it is where Prince played the last aftershow he did in Atlanta (a couple of years ago, I think?)
I was down there at about 10:15 and there was already a line around the block. But if you were a club member and had your laminate, you were able to skip the line and go right in. Plus they had the area right in front of the stage roped off for the club members which was a great surprise. Prince played from 12:35 to about 2:10. Some of the songs performed were (in no particular order): Extraordinary 777-9311 (just instrumental) Other Side of the Pillow The Ride Everlasting Now Alphabet St. Ballad of Dorothy Parker Some random memories: There was a lot of jamming going on as usual at the aftershows. The trombone player didn't have the attachment to go on the end of his trombone, so he had to use a plastic cup instead. During Ballad of Dorothy Parker, Prince changed some of the lyrics to something about getting "a Coca-Cola and pouring it on my staff". I guess he wasn't happy with them. I know that he had some problems with the guiar sound and Najee couldn't get one of his saxophones to work at all. There were probably other problems that I wasn't aware of. It was a fun aftershow of course, but I enjoyed the last one he did at 1150 (a tour or two ago) even more. But the NPGMC perks were awesome. | |
