Inquiry about a hat from Musicology Tour
A friend of mine recently asked me to investigate how he might go about selling a hat that was thrown to him in the audience by Prince at a concert. It's a red felt bowler hat from the Musicology tour. The owner of the hat told me that it was from the August 1, 2004 concert in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He sent me a photo of the hat and it looks like the hats Prince was wearing on that tour (which I attended four times in other locations). While I'm not sure how to officially authenticate that Prince wore this hat, he was hoping I could locate photos from that performance online somewhere to validate it.
The guy who possesses the hat is only a casual fan and wants the hat to get in the hands of someone who will value it and appreciate it more than he does. But he doesn't really know how much he could or should ask for it.
Anyone have any pics of Prince wearing the red hat at this date and location?
Anyone have any thoughts about how much this guy should ask for this hat if he could sell it? Or thoughts about what you would pay for it if you believed it to be legit (as I do)?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
