Imagine again. It's hers to do what she wants, just as any other fans has trinkets, or mementos, etc. What about the letters, the handwritten notes, etc? Where's the line of those things? Promo copies of stuff are out there all the time. Doesn't make them illegal. The Black Album has a lot of different pressings. Peach, White, Gray colors. If someone sold those on Discogs (wait - they are), who can stop that? It's the seller's property.

If Karen wants to sell it, she can. I mean - I wouldn't. That's some rare ass shit, but maybe she's not interested in collecting stuff anymore like others still do.

PS A lot of things are pressed. They're test pressed whether for sound quality, track list flow, or anything. Even Jam & Lewis were test-pressing 45s of Janet's "No Sleeep" a couple of years ago, just to test the EQ and mastering on a turntable (a new Audio-Technica they had just received, actually).

I wouldn't be as surprised to see this if it were just an acetate but has proper Paisley Park labels. Also the other items in the lot are just unplaced promo copies of limited interest to most. The Camille album is hidden behind Parade and ATWIAD and mentioned at the end. You would think they would make this the main selling point.

I'm in discussion with my wife about placing a bid, she isn't keen at all on me spending our money on this.

Indeed, but test pressings tend to have white labels, this appears to have proper Paisley labels.

Agreed. My point being that either way - it's a treasure to own.

--- Selling promotional copies is illegal and I question if he gave this or if she stole it. You have people in this board that bitch at the family for monerize the estate but have no problem with ex-employees cashing in on death.

Nope. Wrong.

I'm pretty sure defamation of character is illegal though, something you get close to with the part of your post that I snipped.

Well back when I worked in a record store it was illegal. I did not know about this case. I can tell you one think selling that copy of the Camille record is illegal as well as the acetate. Camille was never releashed to the public and if what she has is not a promotional copy she is doing something illegal. I used the word if so I doubt I am going to be sued so I am not worried.

I am amazed at the concern everyone has that this woman be able to sell these items. Some of you act as if you are getting a cut of the profits.

oh boy... I hope this gets out. Just to hear if there are any differences in mixes and to also have a new official version of "Rebirth of the Flesh"

I'm wondering whether 'Rockhard in a Funky Place' has a different ending to the version that appears on TBA, and perhaps 'Strange Relationship' (Eric Leeds horns?).

I'm surprised no one is talking about the other items up for grabs.

http://www.rrauction.com/browse_gallery.cfm?category=372

the grocery list and the 'to-do' lists crack me up. Cat getting some good gifts for her birthday including lingerie but Boni gets a check for 4500?

And the voodoo doll of Prince was made for her by the wardrobe staff when she left the organization? was she fired? does anyone know?

i would love the signed 8 x 10. but already over $2000 with 22% added for auction house.

And there it is...

Despite what others may feel...

I'm sure she has other memories of her Boss that will give her comfort

There is another thread titled "Prince Memo To The Revolution 1986 From the Prince Collection of Karen Krattinger." Some of the other stuff is mentioned there.

Why the hell was this thread moved to The Marketplace forum???

Admin, have NO idea how big a deal this Camille promo actually is!

This is bigger than the Black Album when it comes to releases.
It's a great conversation starter, and a very educational lesson for those that aren't collectors.

And in these times of no NEW news aswell!! rolleyes

As far as we know, the Camille tracks are the same as the released ones and "Rebirth Of The Flesh" is already available in perfect quality from many years.

I don't think we can hope for something different, musically talking.

Housequake have added two pictures of the labels to their Facebook page.

The titles appear to be hand written onto label in what could be Prince's handwriting.

Agree this shouldn't have been moved.

Please move it back.

Its an absolute disgrace and very ignorant of you to move this thread to the Marketplace Forum.

This is the biggest thing thats happened in decades (avoiding the obvious)!

We're talking about an unreleased album thats come to life!!! Not a farken record thats up for sale on eBay ffs! mad
