The seller claims that this cloud was painted purple for the "Purple Reign" photoshoot and he even has a picture of the magazine in his Ebay ad but is it just me or is the guitar in the photo rather blue than purple? To me it looks just like those dark blue clouds that he used to play between 1993 and 2001.

Other than that, it looks very authentic and nice, and I think the price is quite okay, compared to what you pay for replicas and rare Hohner teles.

I was in Vegas about 6 years ago and saw a Cloud guitar for sale inside of (IIRC) Caesar's Palace. It was something like $15,000, and certified authentic and played by Prince in concert.

I distinctly remember it NOT being pristine.

Why would he say it was played by Prince, then in the description say it wasn't? It's more like a replica of the guitars he plays.

I think someone looking to do a Prince tribute band would make good use of it, because it was customized for his playing. But when it comes to the collectability of it, a whole other story.

Wow, that is very nice. I'm gonna keep an eye on it, I want to see what it goes for. I wish I could afford it. Would be very nice to have around the house!

You're right. This guitar is clearly not the same as the one featured on the magazine cover. Aside from the paint color differences, the hardware on the guitar he's selling is brass, but the hardware on the guitar shown on the magazine cover is silver. I looked up the phone number shown on the sticker, and it's the number to Paisley Park. I don't doubt that Prince has some sort of affiliation with this guitar, but I've never seen him play a purple cloud live. My guess is that this is one of many guitars that were custom-built at Prince's request, but he may have never actually played this one.

in all fairness to the color because i kepted

on looking at it where the light is stronger the cloud looks more blue then purple. and i would assume for the cover they would used alot more light,,

Wow....this Cloud seems to pop up from time to time.....I would love to get the real story on this! i have recieved some photos of it awhile back and the person who sent it seemed to know alot about it but I can't confirm any of it though.
