i read somewhere that david bowie did great lead guitar on songs
like "rebel rebel" sweet thing".
does he play guitar on his concerts?lead guitar?
what about his keyboards work?
i heard that in the past sometimes he would go with another
musician and he would play keyboards for whole time.

Bowie's guitar work is serviceable but nothing mindblowing. He's competent enough and he's done some decent leads on his albums over the years. I think he's much more interesting as a keyboard player - check out "Low" and "Heroes" to hear his more inspired studio noodlings. Also, "Buddha of Suburbia" was virtually a one-man production...there was collaboration throughout, but it's a good showcase of Bowie's skills as a multi-instrumentalist (not to mention it's an underrated gem of an album).

he does play live... or at least he did back in August during the Poughkeepsie show. not sure if he's strapping one on for the tour or not. nice job, though Anxiety's right... it's not going to blow your mind or anything.

Bowie's "thing" is to play sax - again, he's no god of the instrument, though at least when he's playing sax, it's fun to watch how much he's enjoying himself. He's said in numerous interviews that his original career goal was to play sax for Little Richard, but he wound up getting a little sidetracked.

I've always heard good things about the album "Low". I've been thinking about picking this up. Can someone give me an idea of what the "feel" is?

David Bowie does play guitar on his latest tour which is by far the best concert I've apart from Prince. He knows how to put together a good set mixing together new tracks from reality and heathen along with faves from his back collection. The man is a god. Roll on next year for his next tour
