Great Remakes/Covers

"I Will Survive" by Chantay Savage (one of the greatest remakes of all time; makes me forget the original)

"As" by George Michael & Mary J. Blige

please list your favorite remakes/covers!

I Drove All Night by Roy Orbison
Don't even talk to me about that fuckin' Vegas whore, Celine Dion...her C.R.A.P.py version of that song should never have seen the light of day and is a disgrace to Roy's work before her.
Even Cyndi Lauper's original version is better than that skinny bitch.
But I digress...

Beautiful Ones - Mariah and Dru Hill
and yes I already know what most people on here think of any Prince remake, but I like this one, I never thought this song and lyrics could work as duet

I love you, I love you, I love you. I thought I was the only person on the planet that liked the Mariah Carey remake.

im sure i'll get killed for this but:

Simply Red's "If You Dont Know Me By Now"

beyond that...

Sinead's "Nothing Compares 2U"

Dolly, EmmyLou and Linda (better known as Trio)'s "Feels Like Home" originally by Neil Young

The entire Red, Hot & Blue album which covered Cole Porter. Sinead, kd lang, U2's Night and Day, Jody Watley, Neneh Cherry, Lisa Stansfield, Jimmy Summerville, David Burne, A Tribe Called Quest...THIS MAY WELL BE THE BEST TRIBUTE, VARIOUS ARTIST and/or CHARITY EVENT ALBUM EVER!!!

pretty much anything done over by dolly parton or tori amos
they tend to make them they're own. also, prince's version of one of us. and speaking of joan osborne, she does some great cover versions too.

Chaka Khan's cover of "I Feel 4 U" gots to be one of the best covers ever done. It's the only one that I really like, all the other covers I can think of are pretty f*cked up...
