but really, bossa nova is basically jazzed up samba music.the most popular bossa nova artist is Antonio Carlos Jobim

You know, I don't think I've ever been in an elevator with music pumped in. (Maybe it's not a NY thing.) That's old school, right? I mean, you don't hear that any more, right? The only music I've ever heard in an elevator is when I'm listening to my Walkman.

It´s brazilizan music based from Samba
rhythms but slower,more ballad & smoother.
The bossanova had it´s major breakthough 2 the
mainstream audience during the 60's
when Jobim & Astrud Gilberto had major hits.
Also a lot of jazzmusicians like Stan Getz
incorporated the bossanova into their style.
