* Rahsaan Patterson is opting to go the independent artist route. The eclectic singer, who was previously signed to the now defunct MCA Records, was able to get out of his contract right before the label merged with Geffen Records. Just like former Brownstone member Nicci Gilbert, Rahsaan was given his masters and was able to get out of his contract six weeks before the merger. The singer plans to license his next album Internationally, and to put it out independently in the U.S.
