OK why don't we talk about the whole year of 1983{it was such a great year for great pop music}...

Brother 9/15 aka SouthernBrother lays down some more 1983 tracks

***Patti Austin And James Ingram- Baby Come To Me{love this Quincy Jones produced song}

***Billy Joel- Tell Her About It

***Billy Joel- An Innocent Man-{one of my favorite 80's song, listen to the conviction in which Billy sings this song}

***Madness-Our House

***Angela Bofill-Too Tough...I can't mention 1983 without mentioning this great dancefloor hit by Bofill.

***The Fixx-One Thing Leads To Another

***After The Fire-Der Kommisar...{I think Der Kommisar is German it means The Commissioner... anybody remember Falco's version of this song...I liked his version better}.
.
***Stray Cats-Stray Cats Strut

***Total Eclispe Of The Heart- Bonnie Tyler

***The Gap Band-Outstanding...{one of my favorite 1983 songs from The Gap Band IV an album that was still going strong even though it was released in mid 1982.

***Debarge-All This Love {oh my goodness this was a true summer 1983 song...remind me of this crush I had on this girl. Everytime I heard this song I'd think about her}.

***Donna Summer And Musical Youth- Unconditional Love

***Jeffrey Osborne-Stay With Me Tonight- {I love that hard bass funk riff on this song...this came out around autumn of 1983...GREAT STUFF!!!}.

***Daryl Hall And John Oates-One On One...{Oh my goodness, this song is AWESOME...one of my favorite songs by this duo, I know you remember this one. This was one of those songs that crossed over and got major airplay on R&B radio. This one is an underrated piece}.

***Run DMC- It's Like That...the big breakthough hit for the pioneering rap group. Me and buddies and cousins used to turn this one up on our boomboxes.

***Duran Duran-Rio...A great 80's song. Gotta love the bass riff on this piece.

***Pat Benetar-Love Is A Battlefield-...I love this song. Great video too, one of the most popular videos of 1983.

***Lionel Richie-Running With The Night...WOW!! Love this song. I love the ending with that whole rock guitar solo thing going. Great video too.

***Culture Club-Church Of The Poison Mind...By autumn of 1983, Boy George and the crew released their follow album Colour By Numbers I remember around Oct of 1983, I found $40 dollars and I immediately went to Turtle's Records And Tapes music store in my neighborhood and bought the Culture Club new cassette tape, I later bought it on vinyl. I was stunned. The whole album was so good. To this day, I still think this is one of the best 80's pop albums. You really hear the Motown influence on the leadoff single from this album. Boy George said that him and the group had Stevie Wonder's hit Uptight in mind while recording this one.

***Quiet Riot-Cum On Feel The Noise...{come on heavy metal fans I know you remember this one. "cum on feel the noise...girls rock your boys...we'll get wild wild wild".

***The Romantics-Talking In Your Sleep..Ok Davideye, these guys are from your old neighborhood Detroit, Michigan. Man I love this song. Listen to that serious guitar riff and those larger than life drums..."you tell me that want me, you tell me that you need me, you tell me that love me, and I know that I'm right, cause I hear it in the night...I hear the secret that you keep, when you'r talking in your sleep" this song went to number #3 on the charts in the autumn of 1983.

***Earth Wind And Fire-Side By Side...The Elements were beginning to lose some of their steam by this time. But this was a nice catchy little song that fared pretty good on the R&B charts.

***Michael Jackson-Human Nature...{Epic releases THE 5TH single from the Thriller album in the summer of 1983 and the song went to number #7 on the charts which put Mike in the record books, as Thriller became the first album in history to have 5 top ten singles.

Man, I can go on and on about 1983. What a year for music. I love it.
