Clive Davis in discussion with studios for Whitney biopic distribution

Apparently Anthony McCarten of Bohemian Rhapsody fame is in charge of this. Clive says it will cover everything and they were in contact with everyone in Whitney's life. This doesn't really have a high bar to clear as the other two documentaries were not very good and mostly focused on the bad parts of her life. However, because there already have been two documentaries released this one will have to be very good to get people interested. I'm cautiously optimistic. Whatever one thinks about Clive, Whitney was his baby and I think he will want to do right by this film.

Starts at 5:13.

Whitney Houston wasnt "Clive's baby"...she was Cissy and John Houston's baby...Clive Davis is just trying to milk her soul for every penny he can...just like he always did with all his money making artists, before her and after her..."his baby"...LMAO

I know a lot of Whitney fans hate Clive but she would never have been the success she was without him. I think he's trying to do her right with this biopic unlike the official estate docuementary which was awful. Pretty much anything Pat Houston touches is awful.

They had a very unique relationship. Of course he wielded power, but he needed her talent. I am sure he knows quite well how she operated.

Anybody see the new series Twenties on Showtime? The lead is a Whitney fan and her music is all over the show. It’s a great series:

Anyone who says she was just Clive's puppet doesn't know what they're talking about. Whitney didn't do anything she didn't want to.

Sony TriStar wins the right to this movie. Tentative release date is November 2022. If they're releasing it in November then the expectation they have is award nominations. That's why the Aretha biopic is coming out in December. I just hope this movie can be an accurate and full picture of Whitney's career and life without being all about drugs and Bobby Brown. She accomplished a hell of a lot more than just being a famous drug addict.

No that would be Pat Houston and whoever else was involved in that awful hologram show.

Oh ok cool, that leaves Clive Davis in the clear then. Silver balls is not an opportunist cunt, he's a vulture and a vampire.

Clive says this will be a music-rich biopic. Thankfully they're using her music so whoever plays Whitney will not need to have singing chops.
