god is standing at your side I searched the forum here & also searched the vault, but didn't see any results. There's a song circulating with a female singing accompanied by guitar & a whistling melody supposedly credited to Prince. Does anyone know who is singing if this is even a valid prince song? Thanks.

The song is titled Whistlin' Kenny, sung by Margie Cox, and appeared on the US promo single of Standing At The Altar (a single from the 1-800 New Funk album). Anyway, use the title Whistlin' Kenny and you'll find the other info on Princevault.

I always loved Whistlin' Kenny, and would kill to hear Prince's version. Margie is easily one of the best singers out of Minneapolis, but I don't think this one was a good fit for her vocally. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."
