I loved Captain and Tennille. They had been divorced for a few years now, but remained friends. How can you spend that long around someone and not stay friends? No matter what, love will keep them together. " don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r."

In her memoirs, Tenille described their marriage as loveless and lacking physical affection.

I know. LOL I mean where did they come up with this stuff?

A sexless marriage doesn't mean one or both partners are gay, lesbian, or bisexual A marriage without children is indicative of a choice, not a circumstance Lack of affection is subjective.

It's troubling that it was even brought to this RIP thread.

Tennille said, Daryl was emotionally remote not with just her everybody. Through out their marriage she attempted to pull him in and sex wasn't love. Yet Tennille said, he was the one -go figure.

I don't think you can avoid because every obitutary mentioned, why she decided to leave Daryl. Tennille admit both put on a front about their relationship. Kinda reminds of what my mother always say, whatever your relationship is with your mate or children tell it like it is. Cuz, if you "lie" about the shit it will be exposed sooner or later.

Be that as it may....
I think Captain & Tennelle represented the openess of radio during the 70's, an openess for which we'd never see in the U.S.
If you get beyond their number 1 hits, Daryl and Tennille songwritng was top notch. To dismiss these artist as corny pop is a diservice. I know both wrote music with the Beach Boys; those two should have written music for other artist. I know Dragon father scored for films, I think he had the talent to follow in his footsteps. I'm sorry to hear the Captain has passed; I'm glad Tennille and Daryl were able to maintain a deep/respectful friendship.

I was just getting my young ears tuned on the radio in 1975 when "Love Will" came out. I loved me some Captain & Tennille. Knew all the words. Then they hit with Shop Around. These were some pop masterpieces. She was no slouch either on keys. I'm reading her memoirs now and she reveals a lot about how they got together, fascinating story. Beach Boys stint and all of that. RIP.
