Paul Feig’s ‘Last Christmas’ Dated, Will Feature Unreleased George Michael Music Universal Pictures has dated its Paul Feig holiday comedy “Last Christmas” for Nov. 15, 2019, and also announced that the film will feature unreleased music from the late iconic musician George Michael. Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding are set to star. Feig will direct with Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings penning the screenplay. While project details are being kept under wraps, the pic is described as a holiday romance set in London. Feig will produce for his Feigco Entertainment alongside Jessie Henderson. BAFTA winner David Livingstone and Thompson will also produce. Executive vice president of production Erik Baiers will oversee the project for Universal. The film follows Kate (Clarke), who harumphs around London, making a bundle of bad decisions which includes her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop. Tom (Golding) seems too good to be true when he walks into her life and starts to see through so many of Kate’s barriers. As London transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, nothing should work for these two. Michael’s music featured in the film will include the bittersweet holiday classic of the movie’s title. The film will also premiere brand new unreleased material by the legendary Grammy-winning artist, who sold more than 115 million albums and recorded 10 No. 1 singles over the course of his career. He died on Christmas day in 2016 at the age of 53.

It's kind of a shame that George Michael's unreleased music is going to be associated with anything Paul Feig does.

Cool. Doesn't seem like George Michael's estate is having problems releasing things.

He's the prick who directed the awful Ghostbusters remake and seemingly went out of his way to ruin a classic movie series. His movies just aren't funny. He also played Mr. Poole in Sabrina The Teenage Witch. I am looking forward to hearing some unreleased George Michael stuff though. Although, I have a bad feeling it will probably be stuff I already have... But I'll be optimistic. About the music, not the movie, obviously.

They released that big box set around Christmas last year. The Listen Without Prejudice/Unplugged set? It’s a nice package, but Purple Rain Deluxe outclassed it in terms of content, and actually included previously I released tracks, unlike LWP. [Edited 10/27/18 17:58pm]

I hate Bridesmaids. Absolutely hate it. It suffers from the same forced, over the top "comedy" a lot of modern comedy movies suffer from. The script isn't funny enough by itself so the actors have to overact and run every joke into the ground. I didn't see Spy, but the trailers were enough for me to know that it's no better than other movies featuring the same cast. The original Ghostbusters movie is a classic. It was released in 1984 (6 years before I was born) and is still fondly remembered by audiences and critics alike. It features bonafide comedy legends like Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Ackroyd and Rick Moranis. The cast for the new ghostbusters movie don't even come close and the movie itself has already been forgotten. Had they focused more on the story and less on their agenda then the movie COULD have been decent. Unfortunately, Paul Feig would rather shit all over the original movie's legacy. BUT this isn't a movie thread. Lol

Not getting my hopes up about any unreleased GM music. The GM estate considers a remix of a previously released song to be unreleased material.

I specifically said "in terms of content". I agree that LWP was a nicer-looking package, and I also purchased both, but a single (shitty) remix isn't all that enticing compared to a full disc of outtakes, is it? If they'd included the Freedom documentary as well it might be a different story.
