For 75 years straight, the #1 genre in music, selling wise, was rock n' roll worldwide. Last year (2017) in June, it got de-crowned by hip hop. Hip hop is the #1 genre. It's hip hop - rock - country - pop or pop - country. ~ Pras

Speaking of single, Def Leppard released singles from their Hysteria album all of which - when collected - actually created a larger image.

This experience will cover courtship, sex, commitment, fetishes, loneliness, vindication, love, and hate.

I don't know how to post pics/images on this site, but mine are:

Minnie Riperton "Stay In Love" front & back covers (MINDblowin'!) 1977 Epic Records

Anne Murray "Where Do You Go When You Dream" front & back covers (cute and genius!)

1981 Capitol Records

Rose Royce "Stronger Than Ever" front cover (AWESOME artwork!)

1982 Epic Records

and The Motels "Careful" front cover (An actual painting entitled "Acquired Mannerisms.") I saw that album in the record store and bought it JUST FOR the cover. Never even HEARD OF The Motels. Then I got sucked into Martha Davis' amazing vocals.

1980 Capitol Recrods
