Sinead O'Connor Back In A Good Place

source

The Glenageary-born singer (51) had the Bray seafront property on the market while away, but recently made the decision to keep her home.

Speaking through a friend, the Grammy award winner said she was in good health again and looking forward to a new tour kicking off in April.

Yesterday, she could be seen filling a skip in the front garden of the house as a large number of contractors carried out work in the property.

"There have been reports that Sinead was moving out after selling the house, but in actual fact she is moving back in," said a close friend.

Treatment

"Sinead has been living in the US for the last two years and was getting medical treatment over there, but she's in a good place now and is positive about her new tour coming up."

"The house has been vacant now for a long time and it needs a lot of work done to it so Sinead is carrying out a lot of renovations at the moment. There's work to be done inside and out so it will take a while," she added. In January last year, the Strand Road six-bed property, Montebello, went sale agreed after the Nothing Compares 2U singer put it on the market the previous October for €795,000.

The asking price was nearly €1m less than the price she paid for it a decade before that.

Mother-of-four Sinead has undergone a hysterectomy and underwent hormone replacement therapy in the past.

While living in the US, she was regularly a cause for concern when she posted distressing messages on social media.

Mainly living in hotels, she posted about her despair at her mental health as she seemed to be in personal crisis.

In July last year Sinead posted a video saying she was suicidal and living in a New Jersey Travelodge motel.

"I'm now living in a Travelodge hotel in the a**e end of New Jersey. I'm all by myself and there's absolutely nobody in my life except my doctor, my psychiatrist, the sweetest man on Earth who says I'm his hero," she said, often in tears.

"That's about the only thing keeping me alive at the moment. The fact that I'm his bloody hero. And that's kind of pathetic.

"Mental illness is a bit like drugs. It doesn't give a s**t who you are," she added.

He really just placed her in a robust facility that was in a beautiful place, and did dual-diagnosis; that being mental and physiological. One's existence can start to look very different in a relatively short amount of time. Hopefully, the treatment she has received is something she continues to lean into and grab hold of to make it her own.

I'm glad to hear that she is in a better place in her life now.

She's had a rough life. I sincerely wish her well.
